Whats going to happen Saturday night ?

    Amir Can ? :thumbsup

Flashy Khan outpoints a negative Kotelnik, with the posibility of a late stoppage? A King is born.

    Or

    Amir Con ? :patsch

The chin falls apart from the first decent shots Kotelnik lands, he trades with his hands low and his head high for an impressive Kotelnik stoppage mid to late rounds?

This is as near to a 50-50 fight that I have seen. Kotelnik is far from invincible, is Khan still going to be fragile? The judges and ref look set to make it a fair fight. Kotelnik is bigger and stronger than Khan's usual opponents. Kotelnik is durable and looks like he has come to win.

I think this fight depends on how well Khan can take the shots that Kotelnik should eventually land and how much effort Kotelnik will put into testing Khan's chin. Will Khan try and build a big flashy points lead to fall apart in the later rounds?

    What an Intriguing fight.

For the sake of British boxing I hope he wins, but I can see a Kotelnik stoppage second half of the fight, with a tired Khan unable to hold on.

Kahn will start fast and sharp against a slow starting Kotelnik and if he is disciplined I dont see Kotelnik getting into the fight. But I want Amir to get carried away early on then maybe Kotelnik could get some success and ask some questions and hopefully Kahn can answer them.:good

Yep same here, I want Kotelnik to ask some question, and i hope Khan can answer them at 140.

I got this funny feeling Khan will put on such a display people will be shocked about how he beats Kotelnik, he will be the first to knock him out by the 9th round I would say, dumb prediction I know but boxing hasn't been going as expected lately has it.

But then what excuses shall I make on youtube after Khan wins convincingly, I was thinking about writing...

What has Khan achieved, Kotelnik is an old man and a weak champion because Khan said it himself, They paid him, Who's Kotelnik...

I believe the best play on words is:

    'A mere con'.

    That sillyness aside, Khan UD.

just woken up and felt the need to come onto ESB. I had the worst nightmare where Kotelnik turned out to be a super-strong Limond, knocking Khan out late rounds - i even saw the news paper headlines putting rumours out that Roach advises Khan to retire. Arrrrrgh.

But, now that i've woken up :) ,i agree with Darni - i hope Khan gets tested a bit but then he is able to take it as a result of being stronger at 140.

Nah, ive got to go with kahn on this one, probably by stoppage in the middle rounds. i dont rate kotelnik, and this is the chance amir's been waiting for, a crack at a proper title, what they've been banging on about since he first come on the scene, so i definately dont see it going the distance.

I think Kotelnik is VERY underrated by some. He gave Witter a very good fight.

I'd be very surprised actually if Khan didn't look sensational in the first few rounds. What I cannot make my mind up on is whether Kotelnik will give it his best and actually attack Khan. He can choose to do this early or late, I guess late would be his normal style. I'd bet Kotelnik will fancy a go at the KO, because in my opinion, he'd be a fool not to. If Kotelnik stands off and boxes, then he will give the fight to Khan on points.

It's safe to say Kotelnik has the power to hurt Khan and has the skill to get to him, however, the big if is 'Will Kotelnik press the action and attack in this fight" ?

Kotelnik will be clever about his approach, I think he'll let Khan get early success and figure out what can be done against his style. He's fighting for big pay days so he will press the action.
