It was like watching a fight that I clearly seen before, it was eerie. Berto came in as the favorite for his fight with Ortiz. Both were coming off of good wins, but Berto was expected to knock Victor out. Imam came in as the favorite against a supposed no hoper Granados with an average record coming off of good wins, Imam was expected to knock Adrian out. The point of the story is that pressure bust pipes. Imams confidence was deflated after round 4, same thing happened to Andre against Ortiz. Neither fighters corner had a clue as to how to defend against it because they were to used to getting guys out of the ring early or being placed against over matched competition. P.S. I'm watching both fights right now one after the other. It's like a mirror match with younger guys.
I predicted Granados would beat Imam, but I thought he'd be robbed on the scorecards, I thought Imam's chin was weak but I wasn't sure Granados could crack it but I thought he had an outside chance to stop him, Granados is very underrated and it could be argued that he should be underrated, I've seen him fight maybe 7 or 8 times. Most of the matches he lost were razor close and should have been draws against top prospects like Frankie Gomez, Brad Soloman and Felix Diaz.
:thumbsupHe showed that he has the WILL to win. I really would like to see him fight Postol now. Maybe they should guide him at Broner or Crawford.
Broner match sounds good to me, but Crawford and Postol are on another level than Granados. Its one thing when Imam has stopped Maldonado and Fernando Angulo its another thing altogether to stop Aydin, Mattysse, Jean and Gamboa.
