Had to be sponsors. It´s not unheard of in other sports but i don´t know how common it is in boxing.

 

i heard somewhere that raushee ****** was paid by sponsors all those years he stayed amateur to compete in the olympics

trained full time as an amatuer and just a couple of times a year as a pro laughable really, to much to young maybe

 

sports councils give bursary's out

 

British Olympic boxers are paid a fortune. Anthony Joshua was being paid $62,000 per year. That's a lot more than most families make in the UK.

Khan also had a deal in place with Reebok who were paying him massive amounts of money.

 

yeh khan was our only olympian boxer in 04 also as opposed to 20 odd in 2012 , im far from a khan fan , in fact i hate the dude lol , but he was the mainstream breakout star tht made the gb boxing fund go through the roof , so for tht alone he deserves props ... and i no the podium squad get upward of 50 k funding a year

 

BOA give them a fair whack in funding.
