That's a big cut in purse. It seems that Khan is not that big star yet in the UK if he cannot sell a PPV fight.
I would have walked away if I was khan, he makes little money now. I think its a good move from him though, people will like this because he obviously cares about his fans. This is karma for the ariza situation.
Its going to be 3 rounds of work at most for him. So for the kind of money hes getting for this fight of course he isnt going to refuse it.
Like I said in another thread, £250k seems like a perfectly reasonable purse for a fight like this. He's entitled to take a stay-busy fight but that doesn't mean he should get paid millions for it.
I like that shows he just wants to knock this guy out a true fighter saying **** the money let me punch this guy
Fair play to him the lads getting stuck in to keeping his momentum going. Kind of thought this was unfair to plug as a ppv anyway.
What goes around comes around. The idiot was busy saying 'Peterson is asking for too much money' 'McCloskey is asking for too much money' 'Katsidis is asking for too much money' 'Everytime they hear it's Amir Khan fighting they ask for too much money' Now they cutting his wage to size.He will now need to fight real opponents for him to get any money.
He wont get the actual 250. Roach, conditioning and his manager, family and promoter... they all take some.
Regardless. If Khan was ½ the star he thinks he is in the UK, he would have sold a PPV with a few tomato cans dishing it out with eachother on the undercard.
