Just watched the first minute of round 1 and Garcia clipped khan on the top of the with a left hook, if you watch the first two the signs were there

There was a couple of moments in the second round where I remember thinking at the time Khan was getting careless. Just after Garcia landed a solid body shot he hit Khan a big right (the commentators ignored it). Even in the first two rounds Khan was careless.

peeps need to realise that the fight was short. It didn't even reach to the half way mark.

The fight was short but I've read and heard several times now that Garcia isn't land a punch which want right as jones11 mentioned the commentators seemed to overlook Garcias work.

Any ****ing idiot could tell that whilst Garcia was trouble by Khan's speed in the first round he started adapting to it and began timing Khan from the 2nd onwards.

I started worrying for Khan as the 2nd round developed. Yeah, he was doing good and winning the rounds, but he was also getting more and more careless as Garcia's shots began either whizzing by him or clipping him. Then in the 3rd round Garcia made a bit of an adjustment. He knew Khan's speed could overwhelm him, and so began punching downstairs - which definitely caught Khan's attention. That's when shades of the Peterson fight kicked in, as he started moving around a bit more after becoming unsettled.

But yeah, whilst it is a bit too simplistic, I can see why the casual observor would say Khan was winning the rounds/fight up until the first knockdown. Because, to be fair, he was.

I think Khan tried to do 'a Salita' and catch Garcia clean early and flurry him out!

I said to the people I was watching it with at the end of the first that Khan needed to watch that left hook...earlier in the fight it missed by inches a few times, Garcia knew exactly what he was doing.

Also, when he lost to Peterson that was with completely different tactics. Lots of aggressive fighting on the inside as opposed to keeping the distance and aiming for the chin. That's two different methods that give Khan nightmares and any decent boxer will know this for future fights.

  12. Garcia was losing and losing badly until the knockdown, you can check the compubox numbers khan out landed him 4-1 in the first two rounds

Garcia was cut and looked deflated in the corner

Angel garcia sounded worried and was saying "come on Danny you got to do something man"

I've said it before, if khan had the ability or knowledge to negate that left hook, garcia was on the way to getting stopped himself.

Of course none of that matters now

plus garcia was hitting below the belt a few times..then again, khan was pushing his head down a few times.

naseem richardson suggests khan moves down to 135..

  14. If he can make the weight healthy then I'd agree.

People used to talk about him being a "massive" lww but I don't see it

Peterson and garcia were both naturally bigger men.

Khan is a tall skinny guy who packs on a bit of muscle at 140

At 135 his chin is still **** but he'll have more of a deterrent as he is big at that weight and the lightweights will feel his punches more

Wasn't the point in Khan going to LWW to help his punch resistance?. Make the legs stronger etc. I don't think he could go down to 135lbs and benefit from it personally. I wonder if Richardson based that call on the divisions fighters compared to the LWW punchers..
