Yes thats my point, the trainer he had at the time was lets face it, ****. And I heard the commentary team state loads of times that it was extremely hard to find tapes of him and Khan said that too. And sorry but I would rather take the words of a World-Class Trainer and an expert condition coach over the words of just a fan. :good So I will accept what they were saying is true, besides they also explained how they had basically rebuilt him, by putting more muscles in his legs and gave him better balance, due to how his training was before his upper body was too worked up. And no, you can't really look for evidence in those two fights, Barrera had a huge gash across his face and I had never heard of ***an until that fight so excuse me for thinking that he isn't quite the power pushing top dog for us all to measure the greatness of fighters against.

And yes, I accept that point. But still, he (Amir) beat him (Andreas) in every round. I think He will be too fast for Marcos, as long as Amir Khan keeps his cool and boxes safe all night, thats all he needs. Khan has already proved he can get his punches off and get out of danger, he will dance around him for as long as he has to, I feel/hope.

And yes, I am too a fan of Khan, as you have properly guessed from my borderline obsessive reading about everything about his conditioning and all! :hey

They did have footage of Prescott though and I don't think it would be that hard to predict what type of style he had based on his record! Also, if Rubio did not tell Khan and the rest of his team what kind of style Prescott had, then it is their fault for not asking. However, I am pretty sure he did say something about Prescott, he just got the gameplan completely wrong.

Barrera may have had that cut, but Khan still performed well - same can be said against ***an, who is a tough, durable fighter yet Khan took him out in a couple of rounds (although ***an did allegedly have a broken leg after the first knockdown).

I hope so too, but this is the acid test for Khan - if he can deal with a pressure fighter that has power then we can start looking optimistically at his future in the division. Since Roach took over, Khan's opponents have been very nicely matched for him; ***an - tough but limited, Barrera - past it, Kotelnik - defensive counter puncher, not a high workrate, Salita - average at best.

Still, JMM is a big enough test for him right now :yep

Good to hear, its stupid the amount of hate he receives (i.e why you will hardly see me on the general :yep).

I am intensely interested to watch Khan vs. Maidana. Maidana is limited but can surely bang. Khan has absolutely no punch resistance but can box. I consider Maidana a serious test for Khan based on those factors. It's very basic, but very exciting.

Well regardless of the footage, I think its fair to say the game-plan was the thing that destroyed it all. But with Freddie, I think its the days of **** game-plans are over.

And yes he did preform well, but everybody has said, even Khan, that he preforms better in Sparring and that he just feels better. Only time will tell if thats true though.

And yes I know but, ***an was obviously a comeback fight after a horrible knockout. Barrera was a confidence fight. Andreas was the easiest world champion. Salita was actually a mandatory. But his next fight, whoever gets picked, is a big jump up in class. I look forward to seeing him in there against some of the best! :happy

Picture this. Khan outpoints Marcos. Hatton GETS ****ed up by Marquez. Ricky Hatton retires. Khan VS Marquez is a great fight between two good fighters and not some drained and damaged fighter that can no longer take a punch.

Amir Khan and Ricky Hatton are actually friends, they have both stated that they don't really have any interest in fighting each other. The fight won't happen and if it ever does, it will be embarrassing for British Boxing.

to be honest man, and no offence, but your post is pretty warped in my view.....

So because its a bad matchup for Khan, he shouldnt take it? Instead of fighting a guy that is RELIVENT in the division, and just defeated former heralded prospect ortiz, he should go after an old small marquez whos coming off a loss? and that is because he could lose to maidana?

If thats how boxing was conducted, this sport would be a joke....

Khan should fight Maidana because hes trying to lay claim slowly to the 140lb division, maidana just made a big statement, he wants to challenge the best fighters within his division, and it doesnt matter if maidana has a good punch and khan a iffy chin, boxings very nature demands they fight, which the victor moves on to the next level and on to bigger and better things.

This is boxing.... that is what this is about.

It is really a shame that such a great warrior and accomplished Champion Like Juan Manuel Marquez is now used as some kind of "usa debut" fight for the like of amir khan who's ducking his mandatory In Maidana , I bet its becouse Gbp doesnt want to invest more in old Marquez And forced him to take this fight or he wouldnt get anything else for the money that he truly deserves , I cant really stand such fights , Marquez has no business fighting above 135 and i think many of average 140 fighters could beat him basing on size difference , do we wanna see a sad spectacle like amir khan vs barrera again? not me for sure

because he is implying that he should never fight a power puncher because if he does he might lose.As a champion you should fight whoever and whenever, remember, champs adapt, that's why they are at that level.thing is his fans are afraid for him, because they dont wanna see him like he did against prescott, but if fightin at 140(jr welterweight) are you saying he should avoid paquiao, valero ,bradley, urango or holt....and how about 135,avoid valero, katsidis, demarco, and can you imagine funeka?????.....sorry,marquez was only a business decision that at the end will backfire!
