I'm actually glad this conversation is going well. Both sides are voicing out their oppinions without degrading the other.
What people don't seem to comprehend, is that Floyd is in no position to offer Pacquiao an ultimatum. By the end of 2011, Floyd's antics will be looked upon as cowardice as he continues to pump more hot air into his misplaced ego.
These people are obviously left things out on purpose and regurgitate the same flawed argument over and over again. OSDT was unprecedented to begin with. And some here posted an article that it wasn't on Floyd who ask for it, but failed to notice that it wasn't OSDT. Judah asked for random againts Mosley and what was the reply of GBP? **** NO!
The thing is, GBP is looking foolish because they were the ones parading the whole OSDT or no fight when their fighter was once asked to go through it and they said no. Kinda shows as to what kind of Promotional company GBP really is. Maybe it's the same reason Mosley doesn't want GBP to do anything with him fighting Pac. Marquez should do the same if he wants to have a crack at Pac since it was Schaeffer who said either it's 50/50 with OSDT and no cutoff dates or no fight.
It isn't. Defeats the whole purpose of random testing. Floyd clearly said in the post interview after the Mosley fight that there will be no fight if there is a cutoff. He was clear on that, so why is team Paquiao offering something when they know it will get rejected? Bend over for Floyd? atsch If both Floyd and Mosley took the test, why can't Pac? What do they have to hide that they are running so hard from random tests. If Pac was willing to take a 7 day cutoff, why not do it for the Mosley fight? It would do a lot to squash the accusations. The people who defend Paquiao avoiding random tests in this day and age where pro athletes are using PEDs left and right are straight idiots.
It's all mental.. Mayweather trying to have an edge... i do believed that Mayweather Jr. doesn't believe Pacquiao was on something.. Mayweather Jr. already watching Pacquiao fight since Pacquiao was on super feather weight.. Mayweather Jr. saw the raw and one dimensional Pacquiao back then. of course, if the one dimensional fighter can compete to the mexican legend. what more if his skills develop.
here we go. Mosley is in no position to negotiate any cutoff dates because he had a history of failing a drug test. Pac doesn't have any. If ever Pac was using roids, he would have been caught when Pac and Mayweather were drug tested randomly, announced out of nowhere by NSAC during the first negotiation. Mind you, Pac was drug tested after the Cotto fight and Pac passed it. So basically, Pac took two drug tests even before the contract was signed. Pac has also agreed to unlimited urine testing up to the night of the fight. Urine is still the best way to catch cheats and is less harmful to boxers who use their extremities to fight.
They wanted OSDT, it aint OSDT if it aint random. Pacquiao 30 days Pacquiao 24 days Mayweather 14 days Mayweather up to the fight Pacquiao 7 days Both Teams want the fight, thats for sure. I really believe the fight will happen late 2011.
Mayweather won't ever use 8 ounce gloves again because he broke his hands twice using them. Since he will be using 10-12ounce gloves no matter what to protect his brittle hands. He could have demanded that Pac uses the same size gloves. Instead he agreed to Pac being allowed to use 8 ounce gloves while he will use 10-12ounces himself.
khan almost got koed by maidana in the 10th round. remember maidana gassed out early and he almost stopped khan.
I have already lost interest in this fight to be honest. Floyd has been showing no interest in facing Pac and Pac looked really good beating a guy who outweighed him regardless of the styles they fight in.
No...in Nevada, they must agree to BOTH use the same size (8oz or 10oz). Otherwise, the default is 10oz over 135 lbs. If this rule has changed...feel free to correct to me. If they both use 10oz, it does not benefit Pac, Floyd will be fine. If they use 8oz, this benefits Pac, and can be beneficial to Floyd, as well. But, Floyd has boxed (and won) in 10oz and 8oz, so this is what Pac would push for (8oz gloves).
