Khan has nothing to loose and everything to gain, if he looses to Barerra the press will say the young boy lost to a legend, which is fair enough really. But if he wins, the press will hype Khan again.

Khan can shock the world and K.O MAB, The kid has the fastest hand speed in the world right now. Plus MAB has never felt the power at Lightweight.

One of the most stupid decisions was made: Barrera took a tune-up fight before the big one vs. Khan, and it backfired: vs. a total bum he was badly cut, and the March 14 Khan fight is now in jeopardy. MAB's opponent was DQd for headbutt, but that fight should've never happened.

    Stupid situation.

This is one fight where I really think anything could happen. I'm gonna go for a Khan win by stoppage. I predicted a Prescott win against Khan and MAB is in a diff league to Prescott but still going with Khan because I think Khan will have learnt his lesson and improved under Roach. In the end I think Khans Youth, speed and size advantage will give him the fight. I see MAB getting stopped by TKO late on, lets say 11th round for this one. Of course I wouln't be surprised if the opposite happened. All depends on how much of the old MAB we'll see.

For the record, MAB is my second fave fighter right after pacman and I'm not a huge fan of Khan. However, it would be kind of sad to see Khans career over before its really even started. As over-rated as he is, he's got skills, MAB has done what needed to do, if he loses its no big deal but if Khan loses its game over, and there were such big dreams for him to accomplish. So I'm kinda torn on who to support for this one. I guess the right thing to do is to support the young kid but I cant really help but cheer for MAB:yep.

BTW, the more I think about this, the more I think Warren is just trying to cash in now. Better to get KO'ed by MAB than a bum.

According to several Mexican "backstage" media sources, the cut MAB suffered is indeed very serious, so the Amir Khan fight - just 6 weeks away - will be called off or postponed.

Again, what a stupid mistake to take this tune-up fight. Everybody knows the possible danger of getting cut, and that's exactly what happened.

Good news from Warren that the fight will go on, either on the original date, or a few weeks later.

"If the worst comes to the worst, we will put it back a couple of weeks. But I am hopeful it will go ahead on March 14th. I am an optimist, not a pessimist. I want the show to go on, although I know there are people out there who want it off. Marco is flying to Florida with Don King and they will see a doctor and hopefully everything will be OK."

Khan Barrera Still On For March 14!

Amir Khan's mega showdown against Mexican legend Marco Antonio Barrera is still on for Saturday 14 March at the Manchester Evening News Arena. There had been concerns that the fight would have to be postponed following the cut Barrera received last Saturday night against Freudis Rojas in Mexico, but following a thorough medical examination he has been given the all clear to box..

Promoter Frank Warren, who has been in constant contact with Barrera's promoter Don King, is delighted that the fight is still on.

"It's a great relief to finally get confirmation that Barrera will be ready for March 14,"

"Sometimes these problems happens in boxing and you have to get through them, but I'm delighted that the fight is on and now we can get back to business and sell the remaining tickets for what will be a great fight"

More than 15,000 tickets have already been sold and it promises to be an explosive encounter between the young Bolton star and the seven time/three weight world champion.

Khan, who is training at Freddie Roach's gym in Los Angeles, said, "It was a worrying few days but it's great news to hear that it's still on the original date,"

"I was never worried that the fight wouldn't happen, at the worst it would have been delayed by a couple of weeks, but now my team are all geared up and ready for March 14,"

"My training camp is going absolutely fantastic and I will be in the best shape of my life come fight night."

They're clearly looking past Amir Khan already, I hope they're prepared well. I know that many look at Amir as someone with a weak chin but you can't forget that he has serious power and speed. Even though Barrera is old he's hardly done and CAN go the distance despite his age, it's Amir who has the stamina issues here. If Barrera, at this age, can handle his power then this is his fight for the taking.

Even though Barrera is old he still competed with Pacquiao in 12 full rounds(current #1P4P) and arguably beat Marquez previous to that(#2 or #3 P4P).

This is a perfect test an one Amir should pass if he wants to prove he's serious in the sport. If it doesn't happen now it will eventually happen later and even though he got KO'd recently this is the perfect way to redeem his self.
