Amir Khan Can He Hack The World Class Heat Or Will He Fall To Defeat.

think he can mix it in world level but can never see him bein a P4P contender not top 5 anyway. wud like to see him fight bradly. think thats 1 he can win. he'll probly have a sucess career with bout 5 losses

 

He'll have a career as good as if not better than Hatton's :good

He'll beat the likes of Katsidis, Alexander, Maidana, and Ortiz but he'll get hurt by the proper boys :good

 

I think thats the question. Can he employ this risk free style against everybody? It's a tough ask. If a pressure fighter is on his ass from the first round how is he going to look in the later rounds? Will his defence hold up then?

I don't think Khan has many strings to his bow. He can't really go to war or trade with an opponent, nor does he counterpunch often or punch to the body or hook off the jab. On the backfoot circling is going to be his game, they might just add some variation to his punching.

We'll see. He has a better chance doing that than the average guy because his athleticism is tremendous, he does have long arms and really fast hands, so the style itself works well. It's just whether that works in every situation, I seriously doubt it.

 

I've always called Khan a mechanical flair fighter.

He's too stiff and lacks ingenuity. He needs to improve alot to be a champion for more than a few defences.

 

I'd like to see Khan learn a bit of lateral movement from Pac. I know he's not gonna get it to a tee straight away however seeing him move back in straight lines worries me. Would also like him to copy Pac's style of throwing a combo then movement off to the side.

 

Sadly, I see him having another loss on his record by this time next year (unless they really carefully match him) - however I do hope I am wrong on this :good

I do think he can mix it with world class opponents, but he will struggle with certain types of fighters (i.e punchers and pressure fighters) and do well against others (counter-punchers, 'boxers' etc.).

 

He can beat Devon Alexander for starters.

 

I think alot of Khan improvements under Roach comes down to good hard sparring at the wild card. For me to learn your trade well you must get pushed to the limit day in day out. The level of sparring Khan is getting out there compared to here is much harder, and will get even harder when Khan starts to take on top fighters. Khan must learn to take on all sorts of fighting styles, Roach is a guy who works on a fight at a time, a style at a time, a gameplan at a time.

I think 2010 will tell us alot about Khan and where he stands in the 140 division, Roach today in a interview to the Scene said, ' I dont see anyone in the 140 division who can beat Khan' that is a bold statement.

 

I just want to see power in his punches now.

I am getting the feeling after the Manny show where Khan was at ringside with Haye, he wants to put on a show aswell. I think Khan is going to KO Salita inside 5 rounds and plant his feet and let off some power shots, i think Salita's style will make Khan look good.

 

This is my main problem with Amir,he lacks power,speed in buckloads but is that enough?

I'm still not buying into the fact his chin has majorly improved either....
Time will tell.

 

Amir Khan will become p4p number 1 and the greatst British boxer of all time by the time he finishes his career.
