I'm not a massive fan of Khan's but feel the need to defend him here

He has been criticized for having no chin, fighting light punchers and being involved in boring fights, so what does he do fights one of the biggest punchers in boxing pound for pound mixes it up with him takes some murderous shots that would have flattened most fighters in and around the 140 division (Maidana didn't put him down once), gives everyone a great fight to watch and still gets **** for it

I would like to see how the overrated Bradley and Alexander would have handled those shots, Khan proved to me one thing more than anything in this fight is that he wants to give he fans what they want, he wants to fight anybody and is willing to mix it up when he doesn't need to, yes he can't do this everytme and Roach is probably not happy with him but he has proved he can stick and move against the best (compare his performance against Kotelnik to Alexanders) now he has proved he has a decent chin massive heart and is willing to put the fans first he should be applauded for this look at how safety first Mayweather plays it fans have been calling for him to fight bigger punchers in their prime and at the same frekin weight but he only cares about himself I have downloaded all his fights to help get me to sleep.

The more boxers with the mentality of Amir Khan there are in the sport then the better the sport will be for it give the kid a break

Bradley and Alexander might be a bit overrated, but they´re fighting against each other next and it´s possible that the loser of the fight will face Maidana and the winner will fight for the supremacy of the division against Khan.

This (best fighting against the best) is the best for boxing and these guys all deserve respect for that. I´m for one who´s sick and tired of the Pac-May type of all talk no action -speculations and May-Mosley/ Pac-Marg type of marketing fights.

    Props to both fighters

Maidana comes out smelling of roses here as well IMO. Kinda reminds me of when DLH and Mosley first fought and it elevated both guys

Maidana will be back and will become a world champion.

In fact i would quite like to see a rematch but i don't think that will happen, Khan has proved what he set out to prove and i'm not sure he would be too keen to get back in the ring with Maidana and take those shots again.

I'm a fan of Khan, Maidana, Bradley and Alexander so the 140 division has really piked my interest in the sport again after bull**** like Pac/May and Haye/Wlad/Harrison and Ward refusing to leave the house.

I gave him his dues after he won. He beat a top 10, maybe even a top 5 fighter in his division who had a tricky style for him. Obviously he is going to receive critisism because he already had haters and a lot of his fans on here say he is faster than Mayweather and Pacquiao which anoys people because it is not true. I have begun to respect him lately, he showed a lot of heart in the Maidana fight which makes me like any fighter and he has also stoped mouthing off as much lately. Future p4p number 1? I very much dought that but I think he's going to be an exciting fighter to follow similar to Ricky Hatton who is now very underated on these forums.

Amir invites the criticism he gets. Dude had the nerve to say that Maidana never had him seriously hurt. I mean, come on with that...

I also don't like how he's being force fed down our throats as the next big thing while guys like a Bradley or Alexander get no play. Its ok though, it'll iron itself out here shortly.

I thought this would be a "Cant win against Mayweather" thread, which would be very true.

Don't worry mate, he doesn't need defending. He got the win, earnt his million and has set himself up for big things.

As long as people are talking about him thats all that matters

Good post and very true. Some of the haters have no logic to the hate. They will pick up on anything they can get.

First he was chinny and only fought feather-fisters. Now he has no skill because he didn't shut out Maidana.

Truth is he has fought a slick fighter (Malignaggi), a brawler (Maidana) and a textbook Euro fighter (Kotelnik). He has won all these fights and destroyed his mandatory in between.

I supported Lewis for over a decade of his career, it's a very familiar turn of events.

Just look at it this way - the more hate threads, the louder some people scream, the more you know he's achieving. If Khan was truly awful as some maintain, no-one would care and no-one would post.

He's got lessons to learn, but learning them and still winning the fight? Got to be happy with that.

Hes deff being hyped in major ways.....agree with u about the other fighters not getting the same exposure but lets face it, if ur not coming up on the radar of the promoters, u aint getting the same interest..... i do fear however, ur final point may be right.....i hope not.

he seems a bit ofa GBP cashcow at mo, having large uk interest. My hat goes off to him tho, hes made the best decison to commit himself to a world class trainer and his commitment to boxing shud be applauded....

Pretty much everyone gives him credit for that thrilling fight his performance and the victory. That doesn´t mean you have to like him.
