Amir Khan said on sky news that he is not ready for Mayweather yet but in 12-15 months he would be.

But people ignore this, and act as if he's wanting to fight Mayweather tomorrow.

Ali was always cocky even before he went on to achieve greatness...no??

As someone said, boxing is also about the personalities as well as the fighting. Sugar Ray Leonard, RJJ, Naz, Tyson etc.

Accomplish something?? He was an Olympic silver medalist when he was 17/18, hes a legitimate world champion. Is fighting the best fighters, and hes just turned 24!
What exactly does he need to do for you to think hes "accomplished" something?

Any interview ive seen him in,hes come across and shy and humble. Prince Naz,he is NOT!

And even if he was a little arrogant,hypothetically...so what. Boxing NEEDS characters like that! They bring a bit of showmanship to the sport.

Naz brought a bit of flair and excitement to boxing, aprtly to do with his ability but also largekly because he was cocky and put on a show.

Did Ali let other people rate his legacy,or did he tell people?

Humility is a fine trait...but it gets a little boring in a sport like boxing

When did he compare himself to Floyd? and even if he did, what is wrong with that? Comparing yourself to the best can only urge to train even harder and become the best. He's never said he's accomplished more than Floyd has he?

When has he rated his legacy or ranking? Seriously are making all this stuff up? or is it just to make your invalid argument sound more believable?

Shut up.. Let him enjoy his win and if he wants to talk big after going 12 rounds with the hardest hitter in the division then let him. I dont see you attacking all the ****s who tore him to shreds when he lost.
This nonsense with prescott too. SO WHAT if khan says he'd KO him in 3. And how do YOU know he isnt going to fight him again...
People like u **** me off. U want boxing to be that every single boxer does exactly what they say they will do, are humble, dont talk trash, beat everyone they ever lost to.. It doesnt work like that. This isnt the 1930's mate!

Im actually a big fan of amir khan, an dI never believe a guy should be written of by 1 ko, same as I dont do now with danny jacobs or paul williams.
I think humility works better for khan he is no naseem plus his silver spoon background doesnt help when he acts like he already made it.
But I guess im to early with this thread lets wait and see what Amir does in 2011 after that I might bump it up, I hope not to. AMir ha sthe potential to become a great champ.
Trashtalk is cool by the way but it needs to suit you, guys who can do it, rios, alvarez (chavez jr is better humble for example),haye, floyd.

Pretty much all up and coming boxers have goals like this. Khan's not even after a fight with Mayweather yet, he fully admits he's not ready.

He's only 24, and has amazing natural abilities, of course he's going to have some bravado, it would be strange if he didn't.

Plus it's not like the other guys in his division are any better... Bradley comes across as a poor man's Roy Jones at times, and Maidana relies a little too much on his power.

I actually think after his embarrassing KO loss he's a lot more down to earth now.
