I've been doing a lot of thinking and have finally come to conclusion on why Amir left Frank Warren and how his next 12 months will be. Amir recently left Frank Warren and we've all be wondering why.. Some said he's ducking fighters such as Maidana, but that's not the reason. Amir Khan was offered $1.25Million for each fight of the 3 fight contract that he has with Golden Boy Promotions. The first main reason Khan left Frank Warren was because he is getting a HUGE amount of money from GBP. - Not even known American fighters are getting as much Second reason is, Amir Khan had 2 choices. 1 - He either fight his Mandatory (Marcos Maidana - A high risk/low reward fight) Or.. 2 - He vacate the belt and fight a fighter of his choice such as Paulie Malignaggi (Low risk/high reward) Well I been thinking. In America if Amir Khan fought Marcos Maidana for his US DEBUT, he would have to go out and impress and probably trade shots to win the crowd over. - Well, Marcos Maidana is the WRONG opponent to do that against. - That would spell disaster for Khan's chin and he can't do that with a KO artist like Maidana. + He would literally bring no money to the table. Whereas.. Paulie Malignaggi who has only 5 KO's and is pretty much a non-puncher is the perfect fight for his US DEBUT. Amir Khan can afford to impress and look good and trade with a guy like Paulie. - It would be a great way to win a crowd over and would make a lot more sense. + On top of that, he brings money to the table. So by going to GBP, he had the choice of fighting whoever and keeping his belt. - Which is a very smart move if you think about it. Amir Khan also has a 3 fight clause where Marcos Maidana can't fight Khan for 3 fights. So this year you will probably see Khan definetly fighting in the USA this whole year and fighting people like Zab Judah (Which is probably after Paulie) and someone else. - Khan has to win a fan base in America and this is the only way he can do it (for now) until he has to face a top fighter such as Timothy Bradley. So in conclusion, Khan left Frank Warren for the Money and to keep his belt and to have more options under his hood. Expect Khan to be in America this year building his fan base.
Left the crook warren to make more money??? Just like hatton and calzaghe??? NO WAY! How did u ever figure this out???
....... I was just saying You figured out somthing that 99 percent of people on here already knew :good
he knows the big bibg money is in america swell as the big big reputations , hes got a nice deal with the best promotional compony , good luck to the lad oh and if you think that warren would ever even consider putting one of his fighters in with a genuine living breathing risk .. well then you dont know warren
True, some people did. But I rather put it out there in one whole thread. And If I thought everyone knew then I wouldn't wastee my time writing this. :good
Khan is hype pure and simple Golden Boy will have him fight about 4 bums then throw him to the lions when the price is right. I think Ortiz would Kill him.
Precisely lol....its not like this was 'the da vinci code' or something lol. Money, Break America and bigger/better fights sooner.
I thought this thread was going to be a hate speech but I read until the end and I am glad I didn't start bitching straight away lol. Anyway yeah I agree, at the end of the day I don't think Khan would of wanted to get rid of his belt anyway, no matter where he stayed. And going to America is just going to open up so many more paths for him. And I think its annoying that people want him to fight the likes of Bradley now, Khan is only 23. In a few years then maybe it will be fair to put him in there with those types of guys but not yet. But if he loses or gets outboxed by paulie then...I don't even know what. Well anything can happen...I just hope to ****ing god that he don't get put down by Paulie.
It's weird how you start off by claiming Khan isn't ducking Maidana and then spent the rest of the post trying to justify why Khan is ducking Maidana. Look, it doesn't matter if Maidana doesn't bring any money to the table, Khan's got a guaranteed contract with Golden Boy, which means he'll get paid the same regardless of who he fights. The reason Khan is dropping his belt in order to fight Malignaggi is that he would get knocked the **** out if he stepped in the ring with Maidana. High risk/low reward as you say. :yep How is a guy like that going to become a star in America doing this sort of thing? Alot of our better champions are totally unknown and can't draw flies to their fights. How's he going to do it? By ducking dangerous opponents in favor of matchups with carefully selected feather fisted foes? Khan's not going to get any respect for doing that. The truth is that "break America" is just a narrative that Khan and his team have contructed in order to try and give his now aimless career a sense of direction. He has reached the level in the sport where his limitations cannot be masked, though, no matter how hard they try. Sooner or later he'll run into a durable puncher and he'll get knocked out again.
Yes Khan makes the same amount, but what GBP makes now and POTENTIALLY down the road is huge, one wrong step and they could litterally flushing tens of millions good bye.
