Just watching Ringside and I think they're going a bit OTT with their praise of Amir beating a very limited fighter to be honest. Other than the obvious cause for excitement, his vulnerability, is there anything else appealing about Amir Khan? I find him quite an awkward watch to be honest, he relies 100% on speed and I don't think he's very technical. The reason he gets in trouble when he's hurt has nothing to do with him being a warrior, he just ain't smart. I find his style frenetic and irritating. Anyone else in my camp or do you like his style?
I dont like his style or the man himself but I love watching his fights. All action, high drama, slapstick comedy & constant suspense as he is always so vunerable & only one shot away from being knocked out.
His style is way too ugly and sloppy for my liking, however I enjoy some of his fights. He's been in some very good ones. Gomez, Maidana, Peterson.
He's awkward at times but he wouldn't get to where he is without more than just speed. Great jab, good body punches, blistering combinations, has been improving his movement. He'll keep improving, he's young.
This is true I do watch his fights expecting him to get clipped. The man himself, don't like him at all. Not really impressed with how him & Sky are pushing the propaganda that Roach wasn't all that and Hunter will do a far superior job. He never takes any responsibility for anything.
From a technical stand point not the best to watch. But he's very exciting because you don't really know what's ganna happen in his fights. One of those guys who has the ability to win fights you don't expect him to and also lose ones you expect him to win.
like everyone has put on here, he is great to watch, because of his vulnerabilty and all action style, which is an integral part of boxing. It doesn't matter if he's a world beater, he brings in the viewers and, win or lose, he's mostly in an entertaining contest. I personally dont think he'd beat kell brook at domestic level should he chose to go up and face him. he has that counter puncher style to cause him nightmares, also he's quicker than Danny Garcia and probably punches as hard, if not harder.
Against Judah and Kotelnik he realied on boxing ability. Though with his speed he made Judah look slow.
:deal Khan just turned 26 this month. Hunter is phrase 2(Final phrase to complete Khan as a fighter) Defence and gaining boxing knowledge from a old skill stand point which based on winning at all costs even if boring, and hit and not be hit.
Stun them with his speed takes them a couple of rounds to compose themselves.. Some crumble under it (Judah) Some get cut and a slow beating from it And out of nowhere he throws something like the bodyshot he threw against Maidana - Who expected that? If Judah beats Garcia then it will show despite his weaknesses Khan's style for whatever it may be is effective.
