Is it the Golds that get given away ? Audley got a Gold, the korean chap got a gold against RJJ.

Olympic medals mean nothing in the pro game. Look at boxers like Audley and Tyrell Biggs.

Its not abaout medals being given away, but the context you win them in.

Audley won a gold at an advanced age with loads of amateur experience in a weak division.

Khan won a silver with minimal amateur experience blowing away most of his opponents en route in one of the strongest divisions en route to losing to the p4p no1 amateur atg CUBAN who if was a pro would be in world champ and p4p top 10.

If ppl think Casamayor is a good fighter, Kindelan is on a different level.

This was all done at 17 years of age.

Then again i agree its no guarantee of success, but its the best possible grounding. All he really needs is a world class trainer. If floyds gonna become a promoter, someone shouold give Roger a ring.

Khan will probably then become a total arsehole, but he'd be our arsehole and a winner.

Yes he needs a good trainer but I think he will not leave Oliver.A good trianer can take that limited fighter one step further. Khan has bags of talent, good footwork, handspeed but he has a lot of learning to do if he wants to take one the big boys.

I think he would beat the likes of Alex Arthur.

He may punch back, but can he land a serious power shot. Its getting old now all this protection talk, Amir Khan has stepped in the ring 15 times, and 15 times he has taken out his opponents. He is Commonwealth Champion for ****s sake.

"Did you not watch his last fight, Olympic style destruction, that's what happened"

Alex Arthur will be beaten badly.

    Olympic style destruction!

Yeah, Kindelan was freakin' amazing. Masterful boxer -- I wasn't surprised when Khan failed to beat him for the gold.

as much as i rate AAA but he would get destroyed by ami who would be too powerful, if an average boxer like foster could drop him im pretty sure amir would ko him at light weight.

all this bull**** about fighers actually punching Amir back the same was said for earl that he could punch back but what happen ?

Khan should fight Romanov If he wants to get closer to a title shot If he's looking to break Naz's record of being Britain's youngest.

The other British lightweights are too mediocre to touch him.

Forget the record. I don't see him fighting Jaun Diaz or David Diaz anytime next year.

Arthur would give him a tussle but Arthur relies on being the bigger man too much these days and Khan is bigger than he is. At lW unless Arthur gets too him early Khan wins ( and I'm an Arthur fan )

Khan is for real , he is not the finished article yet but he has the makings !

And lets not forget that Limond actually beat Khan. Of course the ref completely abondoning the count when Khan went down for the second time was quickly swept under the carpet I seem to recall . . .

No problem , I was expecting a Khan stoppage somewhere between 4-6 with Khan starting cuatious, but once Khan floored Earl he realised that the man in front of him had nothing to offer and got the job done .

Mr Kool I get the feeling that your ramblings are an attempted copy at the work of Amsterdam on such fighters as Calzaghe , Guzman and Mijares...........it hasn't worked for you .

I think Thaxton beats Amir Khan , it is by no means a certainty and Khan has the ability to put Thaxton away but one thing is for sure , the safe bet on this fight is the under option .

If Khan is to win he has to take Thaxton out early , before Thaxton can get going . What Thaxton has over a fighter like Earl is that he stays punching back while being hit . Limond was the only other fighter Khan faced that did this and it was while Khan was throwing a double left hook that he was caught with a counter by Limond and eventually floored .

Khan's defence when not on the attack is fine , his reflexes alone are nerely enough to get him out of trouble . It is when he backs someone up that he leaves himself very open and his reflexes aren't quick enough to react because of how close he is to the other fighter that he puts himself in trouble .

We don't know if Amir has learned from the Limond fight , Lawton doesn't come forward and doesn't punch back while under fire . Earl's punch resistance was gone(no discredit to Khan btw he did a very good job on him) so he was out of there before he even got a chance to check Khan's defense .

For me Khan has to win this fight by taking Thaxton out without getting caught clean or boxing very cautiously and winning a decision . I don't think Amir has the mindset for the second option at all , if you can give him one thing it's he does like to come forward and fight .

For one i don't read Amsterdam's posts, and i don't copy off anybody. I am called Mr Kool and there i am sitting right ****ing there in my avatar. Its not about it working for me, i made this topic, and people are replying.

    That's the bottom line.

Limmond is far better than Thaxton. That isn't to say Khan will hammer Thaxton, but Limmond would most certainly beat Thaxton.
