He got knocked down by a man who has no power whatsoever - when he gets banged by a true puncher he'll get KTFO. Serious defensive flaws. However, he did prove good heart to come back from the knock down.

He's only young so things can be worked on, the defense for example, however you cant work on a glass chin, that'll stop hom from becoming world class.

Its a strange fight to review, Khan dominated and controlled the fight against a seasoned pro which was very impressive; he looked fast and accurate with his punches, however, he was badly shaken and floored by a feather fisted fighter.......I'm not sure if Khan has a good enough chin to go right to the top.

It was exciting though, maybe he will develop a Felix Trinidad approach to fights

    thanks for the reviews...
Fast agile fighters like Khan tend to rely on their reflexes and athleticism a lot, and tend to be over confident because of the things they can get away with in the ring... I've noticed that boxers like that tend to sometimes get caught with punches they dont see coming...its either that, or he has a glass jaw, i dont know

that fight didnt show whetehr or not he has a glass chin, the knockdown wasn't getting sparked by a flush shot to the chin, he was practically nundled to the floor lol

jeez some people on here lol

its only his 12th fight ffs

Thats not true, he was in a mess for a good 30-40 seconds after he got up, plus the fact is Limond has 8 KO's in 29 fights.

There no way Khan will be risked against Thaxton or Earl in his next fight

If he was hurt this way against Graham Earl, no-one would say he had poor punch resistance. Even Katsidis, who is musthard, was dropped by Earl. But Khan was knocked down by a light hitting boxer who didn't even hit him flush on the chin. Katsidis or Earl would have knocked him out inside of 3 rounds.

Khan's punch resistance is a china shop waiting for a bull. Did you see the way he dropped his hands around his body and cried out in pain? That would be answered by a single right hand by a world class boxer, and then... Goodnight.

I've seen boxers stopped for being far less hurt than Khan was. He can still go a long way, but he needs a chin protector like Steward to world on his defense.

Such a mess that he stayed on his feet ?? it was more that he'd lost all composure rather than his legs were gone, he was shaken but not like he was staggering round the ring one punch away from being comatosedf lol

i think the fight showed he is still green but he went up a level and he learnt, now he needs a couple more fights similar to limmond standard and then step up again

And, to reiterate, against a complete non-puncher. Limond rarely gets knockdowns, and when he does it's from an accumulation of punches against fairly mediocre boxers. Either Limond learnt how to unload heavy leather or Khan just doesn't have the minerals.

best thing that couldve happened to him, it'll lessen the hype and he'll know he has to work on his defence now.
he was defo out of it though an thats gotta be worryin.

i got to agree with you i do think he was buzzed the first shot did that but the punches after it were all on his chin and temple.

people seem to pretend that you are alowed to be hit by right hands over and over with out getting hit even if limond was feather fisted he is still throwing body wieght and malice behind those punches :think and these were 6 shots to his chin...and after all that he got up at a 5 count

the minerals to get up and break the guys jaw ?

he's a young fighter who made a meal of a fight he was expected to win easily

but haven't we seen top class fighters make a meal out of avg oppositon ?

he won the fight, he'll learn from it, and his education continues

He went down to a series of shots rather than 1. He was definitely hurt, but he had no problem getting up of the deck and breaking Limond's jaw. I hope they continue to put him in against live guys so he will have to rectify his defensive problems. He doesnt take a proper guard and sticks his chin out really badly. If he can put this right theres no reason hes not going to be a titlist.

The fact is that he got tagged by one punch from a featherfisted fighter and got hurt. Then he got hit by a few follow-up punches and fell. He was wobbly and even fell to his knees again after getting up the count of 8, only to get up again and look hurt for another minute. His chin is a disaster. It really sucks for him that his talent is so great, but his chin is so horrible. Imagine if he got hit by any real puncher, no matter how much heart he has, I don't think he would be able to recover from it.

I wonder who Khan is going to fight next. His team is going to have a hard time finding a good test and step up with zero power. Amir Khan should just try to milk his star potential as long as possible to make money before he gets Litzau'd into Audley world. I will be betting on him to lose by KO the next time he steps up in class no matter who he fights. His chin is just terrible.
