I answered your question Darni, earlier in this thread.

The fact that Khan managed to lose to Peterson is especially damning. More so than the KO loss to Garcia.

No i am just pointing out i dont think he has a glass jaw thats too far, i say if you were to rate his chin from 1-10 i say his chin is a 6 about average.

Thats why needs to fight to his strengths, and protect his weakness.

I do agree with the bolded part.... somewhat. What I mean is that I believe the move to 140 HAS helped his punch resistance, and getting knocked out by Garcia doesn't disprove that. The guy that was floored by Willie Limmond would have been knocked out by Maidana.

Having said that, his punch resistance is still only average/below average, and it doesn't take a big puncher to knock him out. He's no Enzo, but all throughout his career he's struggled with being able to take a shot. It's not just the knockdowns either, it's the way he reacts afterwards. Someone like Marquez has been knocked down a fair few times, but he recovers very quickly. Khan on the other hand doesn't. His legs turn to Jelly, he's all over the place, and it's not good to watch.

On this forum, people love to ridicule fighters with bad punch resistance, mostly indirectly with snide remarks. I don't know why it should be held against a fighter, since it's not something you're able to control or train. If anything, Khan should get more respect for getting as far as he has with that chin of his.

I'd rate it at about 3 to be honest.

On a scale of 1 - Eric Crumble to 10 - George Chuvalo.

it was a 2 or a 3 when he was at lightweight, getting put on his arse by Limmond. Since the move to 140, I'd rate it about 5 out of 10.

    Past it
    Not a big puncher
Doesn't punch as hard as first thought, he was thought to be a big puncher for taking out Ortiz, Ortiz has gone on to prove himself to be very mentally weak. Also on you're own arguments, Maidana couldn't put a shot to **** Morales away

10 - McCall, Chuvalo, Holyfield, Hagler
9 - Pacquiao, Mosley, DLH, Barrera
8 - Froch, Marquez, Morales, Calzaghe
    7 - Hatton, Benn

Much further down the foodchain you've got Khan

I agree Khan is around 5 or 6, put it this way if Khan dont fight as reckless as he did vs Peterson and Garcia and understands he dont have the best of chins then thats the way to go, i am sure Hunter will work on this too, lets see if Khan can change his mindset.

listen i think khan is vastly overrated like the next man, but to claim he has a glass jaw is stretching it a bit too far, i think the fact that he got up from the knocdown and was able to continue in the next round after getting cought numerously by the same punch shows his chin is atleast a bit average.

Judah didn't lay a glove on him. 155lb Peterson?? What, so because he comes in about 5lbs more for that fight than he usually does he's some sort of concussive puncher?
Khan's punch resistance is crap. It's just the way it is. He takes a big shot and his legs are gone. If Khan had Maidana hurt the way he was in the 10th, that fight would have been stopped, we all know that.
