Amir Khan has never beaten a legit world class fighter in their prime

Discussion in 'British Boxing Forum' started by JackieFitzgeral, Feb 1, 2016.

  1. His CV is pathetic. He has fought fringe world level fighters and lost every time he has stepped up. His best win is versus a very green Maidana.

When will he finally stop ducking Kelly?

He does need to stop ducking Brook, but come on, give him some credit. Malignaggi was 30 and coming of what should have been two victories over Juan Diaz. He was prime and he is world class. Maidana, whilst not the Garcia trained Maidana, was still far from green when he fought Khan.

Khan deserves a lot of just criticism in regards to his recent opposition and inactivity, his chin and his many technical flaws so you really don't have to make stuff up to have a dig at him.

A very green Maidana? LOL moron, he's just retired, Khan fought Maidana in the prime of his career along with Kotelnik/Peterson.
I agree Khan hasn't faced AMAZING competition, but that's a mixture of setback defeats against Peterson, which he actually won - but was robbed on the cards and by unfair deductions, and by being caught badly by Danny Garcia, who timed him.
Since his schooling of Devon Alexander and Collazo, many fighters avoid him for the fact he's high risk and low reward. While you may catch Khan, it is likely he'll outpoint and outspeed you and take the fight home on the cards, he also has a great engine for 12 round fights.
So, yeah his resume is good, not amazing but still better than Brook's and has faced consistently better opposition (Porter aside).

Also, his last victory and the Paulie wins are both good wins in the grand scheme of things as Algieri is a much better fighter than people give credit for.

    Very true

the Alvarez fight is the only time he has every been an underdog going into a fight... which shows you how much he's cherrypicked his whole career avoiding risks. He only fought a green Maidana because he was mandatory.

His ducking of Brook was the most cowardly I ave ever seen. He's used every excuse in the book, lied constantly. Everyone can see the truth.. He's terrified of losing to Kell Brook..he knows he would never be able to recover mentally from the beating after all the talk about it for years and on such as huge scale at Wembley. He woud rather face ANYBODY but Brook.. it'll never happen.

Ducking Brook and facing Canelo instead?

Laughable how you guys think Khan has chose the easier option.

The win over Maidana is better than the win over Porter.

What has Porter done since? Beat a fat AB?

At least Maidana ran Mayweather the closest he's been in years.

Imo both khan and brook can beat most of the top ww i just wish they would be allowed to fight them.
As for khan vs canelo - khan needs the fight of his life and to use a lot of movement and fast combinations of no more than 3 shots max at a time and then get out. He has to stay on his bike and clinch when canelo pressures. Canelo is slow footed an a questionable engine and output but is a very good counter puncher and very economical an methodical with a decent defense and average power not a one shot ko puncher. Imo canelo gets to khan midway and stops him

Watch Brook/ Canelo v N'dou and Hatton. See Matthew Hattons quotes to who is better.

What is laughable is you thinking Porter & Gavin would beat Brook :lol::lol:

here he is the .. guy who takes hatred of a fighter ( Brook) and fanboyism of a fighter ( Khan ) to new levels..

the guy who calls himself Brixton Bomber.. but he's not from Brixton and was never a fan of the the 'brixton bomber' Danny Williams.

The guy who didn't honour a ban bet after ludicrously predicting Frankie Gavin would beat Brook

Porter is a bit better win than Maidana. Maidana was almost always the nearly man lets be honest. Devon Alexander is a joke and he schooled that green version of Maidana who Khan beat.. Alexander won every second of every single round. Maidana made Alexander look like Willie Pep for one night only it was that easy.

Khan has no good wins at Welterweight.

What's funny is that Porter has become "the man" and the bigger name out of him and Kell.

Beaten AB and is fighting Thurman next.

Kell has beaten two mandatories and a voluntary since.:lol::lol::lol:

Just retire Kell. Do us all a favour.

Khan's CV is pretty decent if you ask me. There aren't many fighters with wins over prime world class opposition, as subjective as that may be
