Yeah but in a years time Khan will still be a boy... not physically mature enough to hang with a tough strong fighter like ricky. Just look at Vargas if you want an example of what can happen when a guy who is physically gifted and should be a future phenome gets made into a phenome before he's physically ready to hang with the biggest and baddest. It is true that Khan is a top talent and that he has the talent to be a greater fighter then Ricky. But that doesn't mean Ricky Hatton doesn't kick his ass year from now.
Amir should shut the **** up,he's achieved virtually **** all and it's laughable he's even starting to believe he has the style to beat Hatton............he'd get raped.
I think the part of this interview that should be talked about is the fact that Team Khan wants to win a World title at 135 before moving up to 140. That would mean that he would have to get himself in line for a title shot with in the next six months and would have to have the title within a year. And thats basically an impossibility. I wouldn't read much into this statement. It is just Khan's people hyping him up to be the next big thing. Not serious talk.
Khan wants to develop some sort of ability at in-fighting before he starts saying he'll beat Hatton. Hatton would get inside and demolish him.
I agree its all talk for publicity, but its comments like these that have turned a lot of boxing fans I know against him......it's been said a hundred times before, but the Naz style arrogance has made so many fans wanna see him get KTFO.......the boy nextdoor image at the Olympics has been replaced by a cocky smartass for me.
Considering Pac is likely to take out David Diaz and the other champ at 135 is Juan Diaz, Khan stands no chance of winning a serious title at 135 within a year. Hatton would also murder Khan. Hatton gave PBF a hell of a fight and has beaten Kostya, hes on a different level that I doubt Khan could even ever reach.
Yeah that was going to be my next comment. "what are you going to do to get this title at 135??? Beat the baby bull??? Right! I don't think so" For the good of his career Khan needs to fire his business manager, who tries to play this guy up like the second coming of SLR. He's not. And if he wants to be he needs a more professional attitude in his fights and two or more likely three years of fighting different style's before he's ready to be considered in the world title picture. What he certainly doesn't need is the public thinking that he's ready to be a world beatter when he's not. Soon he will have the skills to beat SOME world class opponents. But he will not have the experience to keep on doing it against all types of styles. So even though he might be ready for a title shot in a year to 18 months I wouldn't want to see him challenge for a title for a least two and a half years.
If I'm Frank Warren I purposely keep him out of the title picture at both 135lb and 140lbs because the champs there are all great. And khan might never become as good as any of them. Gavin Rees asside won't be ready for any of them a year and a half from now.
Naz style arrogance? Comparing Khan's arrogance to Naz's is like comparing a bow and arrow to an atomic bomb in damage scale. Khan may be a bit cocky, but Naz was just...wow. Even by boxer's standards, his ego was freakin' MASSIVE.
Khan is fast becoming a big joke. I'm sure Ricky will be laughing about it, too. But what I say is go ahead and let him step into the ring with Hatton, if that's what he wants. I'd pay to watch Ricky dish out such a fantastic beating. Like I said in a previous post somewhere, if it wasn't for Ricky's loss to Floyd, people just wouldn't be saying this ****. Because Floyd beat him, they all think they have the blueprint to beating him. Well, what worked for Floyd isn't gonna work for others, plus there is no doubt in my mind that Ricky learned a lot from his battle with Mayweather, he won't be making so many mistakes next time. Mark my words. But anyway, Khan gets destroyed badly if he fights Hatton, and I don't care if it's in one year or ten. End of story.
Agreed. I would hesitate to say that he would get destroyed even in 10 years, though -- in 10 years age and ring wear 'n tear will have utterly degraded Hatton and would make him easy work for Khan, assuming he would even fight at that age. Khan would stop him at that point.
Thats a line of **** , if I ever heard one. Tell me --- what the **** is Amir Khan going to do to Ricky Hatton. Answer --- **** all. Hatton kills him.
