hype jobs are annoying for us hardcore fans, for me anyway. but anything that catches the interest of the general public in boxing is good for the sport, even hypejobs.
This is providing Khan has the mental state of Floyd, the toughness, endurance, the laser like accuracy, the defense. People are suddenly forgetting the fight making out it was so easy for Floyd. Hatton gave Floyd a hell of a fight and had Floyd lacked anything, such as accuracy, defense, stamina, toughness or ring smarts, he probably would have lost. Those are intangibles that Khan will struggle to ever come close to Floyds level. I dont think Khan has the chin to take Hattons punches for a start. I dont think he has the stamina to keep Hatton away as Floyd did. I dont think he has that accuracy/defense/counter skills to make Hatton eat combinations and I dont think he has the mental state to adapt to Hatton once Hatton starts roughing him up good.
Hatton didn't give Floyd a hell of a fight. I cant remember who (maybe lennox) said before the fight that floyd was under estimating hatton and the Mayweather camp thought Hatton did not carry the threat that Judah or De La Hoya did. Well it turns out they were right. As I had the Judah fight a close win, De la hoya a very close win. However Mayweather was in his comfy zone all night with Hatton. You could see it in his eyes he knew his defence was far too good for Hatton to break. As for Khan give him a year and I think a Hatton fight is 50/50. The fight will come down to if Khans chin will stand up to the test.
