Well no, it can't be said it's bollocks. We will never know whether he's telling the truth, however what we do know is the outcome. He took Maidana's punches.. and won the fight.

I personally believe he had a lapse in concentration and that it wasn't intentional on his part, but the thing is he showed in the final round he can if he needs return to what he's supposed to be doing and stay clear of him.

I cannot see it being anything like the first bout. 12 round wide UD to Khan without the excitement.

It's going to be Guerrero or Judah July 23rd

Based on the fact they are currently the only two people in talks and there are only a few days until the opponent has to be confirmed.

When it comes to negotiating and TK, it's impossible to agree on anything in a matter of days, because the first 2 weeks is spent with them trying to take you for a dickhead. Factor this in with Maidana's chaps being very bullish about what they consider themselves entitled to, it is very, very unlikely he'll be fighting him on Jul 23rd.

It's far too early to say, like I said in an earlier post, it's quite possible the WBA won't strip him because of Maidana doing something else as happened on the first time this situation arose.

Wouldn't Judah be classed as unification which I thought had priority over mandatorys?

Fat Dan is reporting that hes spoke to Schaefer and Khans next opponent will be either Zab Judah or Erik Morales.
Lets all hope Team Khan make Judah a good offer.

It's Khan's footwork that is the problem. Just because he has quick movement of foot doesn't mean he's got good footwork. His feet don't move in relation to what his brain should be telling him (Hope you get what i mean)...Like a footballer when they say likes of Lennon and Walcott are to quick for own good. Khan moves so fast around ring wasting energy but also not allowing himself to think about attacking nor defending.

Round 10 against Maidana why on earth is he circling to Maidana's right hand? Because he wasn't concentrating just moving around ring without thinking about the gameplan.

Speed of hand and foot's great but it has to be channeled properly.

Personally my gameplan in a rematch against Maidana would be:

-Maintain centre ring, Don't need to back up and allow him to walk you to ropes where you clearly don't feel comfortable. Little steps back would be better and conserve more energy. Maidana needs to be stopped at source. Allowing him a bully to go forward does you no good at all.

-Circle to your right to avoid Maidana's main punch. The bully needs success to boost his belief. Limit this and suffocate his success and he will fall away badly. Maidana is a schoolyard bully.

-Work hooks to body when Maidana goes to full guard. Pepper gloves shell him up then work.

-When at Mid-Short Range punch with his looping right. Counter it with left hook on the inside of the seam.

Just a few things that i feel could be implemented. The top one i doubt would happen because Khan seems to run around outside of ring and still doesn't seem comfortable under maintained pressure. His face down, ear mufflers guard is a tale tale sign someone ain't liking the inside work.

Yeah, I feel the same way, Manda. I don't understand why his hands and feet don't coordinate very well with each other. It makes him look very amatuerish when he does it.

It's easier said than done, mate.

It wouldn't be wise to look at Maidana's last performance IMO. He clearly underestimated Morales. He was out of gas in 5 rounds, it was pathetic. He usually has decent stamina. I don't think he trained at all seriously for that fight. Whereas Khan handed him an L, and that is going to give him a very determined mindset.

That said, Khan should really win more clearly this time. When you're a boxer against a slugger and you already pipped a slugger to the post you should NOT, repeat NOT be losing rematches. Boxers learn from their errors and capitalize on what they already know. Then again, Khan isn't particularly smart.

    Interesting fight all the same.

You fight your mandatory and beat him, and 6 months later if you don't face the same fighter again you will get stripped  what a joke

Wasn't Khan meant become Super Champ after beating Maidana the first time around as he beat beat the interim champion by then making one champion at the weight?

Anyway I don't mind Khan-Maidana II would be a great fight, one I see Khan winning wider on points this time, but I think this news will help Khan-Judah get made as a unification will take over a mandatory bout.
