It's because he's an arrogant little ****. Thats the problem with the celebrity culture we live in now. No-one can go about their business with a bit of quiet dignity.

Floyds in his 30's & has already created a legacy. Khan is 21 & fighting some nobody in a WBO eliminator & talking about retirement. It's not a comparable situation. Do you fools just look for any stick to beat Floyd with?

I was also thinking of someone like Haye. I can see him retiring as soon as he has beaten Klitschko at HW, instead of hanging around to dominate the divison. Then, there is PBF, who is messing about when he is still has a good 2-3 years in him...postponing the big fights and concentrating on other things...

No-one epitomises a celebrity fighter better than Audley Harrison though.

floyd comes to mind with his branching out to the masses by doing new things. but in his case, that celebrity is deserved by being accomplished in his trade.

Oh he's not in the same league by a long shot which is what makes him so much worse in terms of being a celebrity boxer.

Well i do remember reading recently that Frank Warren doesn't want Khan to just win a title, but to defend it aswell, so i doubt Khan will retire after winning a title to much money involved :deal

And when you take into account the fact that he didn't say he wanted to win a title then retire straight away at all.....

Is he quoted as saying he will retire at 25 as I cant see it or is it creative writing from the British press? Whats the source?

Where you do get he say he will Quit when he becomes a champ? :patsch
He said he will stop "when my body will tell me to stop."

Most young fighters dont want to fight into their 30s. Roy Jones said he would retire if he ever got hurt in the ring but never did.
DLH said many times that he wont fight past 30 and the list goes on...

Quiet dignity what would you do if the press were hounding you with all these questions?
So hes arrongant for saying "I won't be around at the age of 36. I'll be chilling out and relaxing with my family by then" Your a ***** if you think that means he will retire by 25 and just cant stand his success.

No young fighter wants to fight into 30s.
