Peterson's story is made for 24/7, plus he has the 'I beat Mayweather in sparring' sell. He's coming off a big win, he has the Ortiz draw. According to Floyd black on black fights don't sell that well and he wants a ethnic group behind their fighter to sell more. Still the Mosley fight did 1.4m

I think a Khan fight would give him more money than Bradley though, Bradley really isn't a big draw

Agree on this too, Roach is on record as wanting Peterson. Peterson or Cotto are the easier options. Bradley as a package is a tough risky one, I think Pac probably wins but if Bradley makes in an in fight or figures out the angles he could well win.

Peterson if he gets Pac will be a dark horse, he's bigger so 147 suits him better than Pac. He'll come into the ring weighing 155. He quick, has a good right hand, defensively smart and can fight well on the inside. I could see him being ko'd or pulling off the upset

I could see Lamont as a dark horse pulling off an upset too. I'd want at at least 7 or 8 to 1 odds like I got on him against Khan. I don't see Pac KO'ing him at all though. I think a Pac victory would only come by way of decision.

The reason I mentioned Bradley, is because, despite getting less money fighting him, the benefits of beating him more than make up for it. He'd get his revenge, climb straight to the number one spot of the division, pick up another world title, and have even more opportunities open up for him (he'd become an even more of a legit, attractive opponent for both Pac and Mayweather).

And yeah, he'll be a dark horse, but I see Pacquiao dealing him with easier than what he would against most others. Peterson's a come-forward fighter with a not so great defense. He'll play right into Pac's hands and get beat up pretty bad, in my opinion. Which is why Roach is keen on him. It'll do Pacquiao a world of good if he can head into the Mayweather fight off a flattering win.

For the record I think Peterson gives Pac some real problems, even though he probably gets stopped late.

You think he'd beat Bradley though, I thought that was pretty wide at the time, although Bradley billy goated him silly.

Being a come forward may play into Pacquaio's hands granted but I think Peterson makes less defensive mistakes than Cotto and Margarito and he does have that right hand to neutralise Pacman. Also Peterson is 5'9 with a 72 inch reach. Don't get me wrong I could see a Pacman KO here too but if the odds are wide enough I'll put some money on Peterson, although can he win a decision on the cards even if he does deserve it?

Either way I think Pacquaio will choose between Cotto and Peterson and Mayweather will choose between Alvarez, Cotto and Peterson.

A new twist on this running saga guys..
A spokesman for Peterson told BBC Sport: "Right now our efforts are focused on the appeal to the World Boxing Association (WBA).
"We are patiently awaiting a decision.
"Once that's done and Lamont is finally in receipt of his WBA belt then we will shift the focus to who he fights next."
Earlier, Richard Schaefer, Khan's US-based promoter, told BBC Sport that Peterson's camp had promised to give an answer over a rematch on Thursday.
But it now appears that the Peterson camp have no intention of agreeing to another fight while the appeal is on-going..
After this report were no nearer to agreeing rematch conflicting comments from the peterson camp.. This is part of the problem depending on who you here from..

Fair play, Petersons team would be stupid to agree to a rematch while their counter appeal is still ongoing.

They will win their appeal. No rematch. Book it.

Nah, I too think he'll lose to Bradley again. But Peterson of course won't be thinking that. In which case, he'd be right in going for him if he truly believes he can beat him.

Team Peterson to give rematch decision in next 48 hrs if no rematch then Amir is gonna move to 147 to face the likes of a Mosely.

Think this is a BAD decision... he has atleast 3 more fights at 140.

Former world champion Amir Khan said today that he still hopes to land a rematch with WBA/IBF super lightweight champion Lamont Peterson, but Peterson has to agree to a rematch in two or three days or he’ll take another fight. “We’ll probably give him another 48 hours to get back with us and then we’ll move on to someone else. I’m going to move up to the next weight category and look at someone else because I’m not going to be wasting my time. I think everyone knows that I want a rematch and I deserve a rematch, so we’re just waiting on Lamont Peterson and his team at the moment.

“I’ve offered them a great deal. 50% of worldwide revenue so it’s going to be the most he’s ever going to get in a fight. If he’s going to take on Marquez, he’s going to get half of what I’m giving him, so it’s up to him. If he really thinks he beat me in the first fight then I’m sure he’ll take the rematch.”
