Khan by comfortable ud. They should make some adjustments that should allow him to cruise to a clear victory this time.

Roger Mayweather says Amir Khan will lose the rematch against Lamont Peterson

Trainer Roger Mayweather is of the view that Amir Khan will again lose to Peterson in their upcoming rematch.

Amir Khan, who is set to fight Peterson on May 19 in Las Vegas, is desperate to get the titles back which is being seen by many as a pressure on him.

Roger Mayweather is of the view that Khan should never fight Peterson again since the latter is much more talented than Khan and can easily defeat him again. He further said that the fight is a bad match up of styles of both the fighters, with Peterson having the upper hand.

Roger Mayweather was once trainer for Peterson so he knows what Lamont is capable of. Roger added that he always knew Lamont Peterson is the man who can be troublesome to Khan since he has seen Lamont practicing with his nephew Floyd Mayweather Jr. Peterson.

He further added that both the fighters exhibited more or less the same fighting spirit and skills due to which none of them ever won and the practice sessions ended with no winner.

He added, “That’s one of the reasons why I knew he would whoop Amir Khan. He sparred good with Floyd. He [Khan] ain’t going to beat Peterson. That guy got his number. That’s how it goes. Sometimes somebody has your number.”

Khan has been giving in his best efforts to make the rematch possible. Last week he happily announced finalisation of the match through his Twitter account and since then updates of his training preparations have flooded the internet.

Amir Khan has definitely become the teen sensation today but he still lacks the fighting spirit and skills needed to be the champion, as most former fighters put it.

Lamont Peterson and Amir Khan will collide on May 19 at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas to decide which man is better. Peterson has already said that he will not let this fight be the victim of controversies and so he is giving in his best to make sure he can beat Khan cleanly. If Khan loses this rematch, he will not have another opportunity to prove his mettle to the world.

Regardless of the suspicious factors, Peterson fought the right fight.

Agreed. His game plan was excellent, and he showed a good ability to adapt. That was the best Peterson i've ever seen. That being said i'm not sure he'll be able to replicate that kinda performance again, that night might just have been his peak performance, his "Douglas Moment".

Peterson is what you call a all rounder a good fighter who ticks all the boxes but isn't spectular in any. Khan has ALOT of flaws. His inside game isn't good prob since Oliver thought his handspeed would get him through most fights. Plus Khan avoided taking the british, european title route (where an aptitude of inside fighting is needed) and hit jackpot with winning world titles and Lightweight and LWW.

Khan is the only person who can change his destiny; forget the hatman forget the lets throw some thunder ref... i think Khan is in denail... he thinks by hitting angles and going under Lamont's looping shots will win him the fight. Fine he can attack the body like we saw him demonstrating on freddie roach episode but he really got to fix his **** up. We all knew this day would come. We all knew from day 1 Khan's inside game is weak.

I sometimes feel sorry for Khan... he wants to say something but it comes out wrong and 2nd what is freddie teaching him? I really think he gives him the same gameplan for each fight... lets hope he re-invents himself in this fight.... tbh alex should be given more credit than 'coach freddie'.

But hey atleast Peterson is rolling in money... homeless no more.

    You could be right.

if Khan wins this it'll probably be his best win to date, considering the style matchup, just ahead of Maidana.

Yup, I'll rate Khan if he does things differently to ensure a win. But if he wins by just continuing with what he did before (but upping the tempo/effort by 20%), then I'm gonna' be disappointed again.

He must show more variety, else the critics will remain.
