A lot of the problem seems to be Khan's mentality.

He's spent so long complaining about the decision, about the referee, about the man in the hat at ringside, about Peterson's supposed use of the head, etc. I still haven't seen him actually acknowledge his OWN flaws, the ones which we also saw in the Maidana match. If he doesn't understand that he needs to evolve and improve if he wants to hang around on the top level, then he's going to lose again. It's possible that Peterson will have an easier time for the rematch too, considering that he now knows exactly how to fight Khan.

    Yes i agree.

Alot of his interviews he says things like i'm gonna hit the angles more, go under his looping shots and attack the body, work in the pocket abit more etc. He doesn't acknowledge how easily Peterson could push him back etc. I think Khan has no boxing brain... he just listens to Freddie and doesn't change anything if tactics on the night are not working. He's no Roy Jones... he could do everything... he made boxing look so beautiful. Long live RJJ.

To be fair I think Khan KNOWS he can't fight on the inside, which is why he's also getting advice from Gallagher for the rematch, he just finds it incredibly hard to adapt his style to do it... kinda like Wlad. It's a shame he's not built like Tommy Hearns or something lol

Gallagher should give him a few helpful tips... cos Freddie hasn't. I actually like Wladmir and Vitali... good people. Imagine if we see a new Amir... that would be cool. Doubt it though. Even Manny went back to his old route of boxing in JMM 3 too bad Bobfather had the result pre-determined.

    Marquez has Pacquiao's number

Nobody really has Khan's number yet...

Once there is a guy who can outtime Khan really well and work him on the inside SMARTLY - not just running in

Then you have somebody who has Khan's number

Khan is gonna learn alot in his next training camp.. Once he learns how to deal with the inside pressure...

    what can peterson do?

Things I wanna see Khan do:

-Move smartly don't just run around wasting energy
    - use shots that can deter peterson moving up on the inside too often
    - Stop putting his F8cking hands up to show he is "okay"
    - not do his "hermit defence" and stand there taking uppercuts.. <-- If he starts doing this I'll give peterson a good chance to win again.

Why would you assume he's going to learn alot in his training camp, and suddenly learn to deal with inside pressure?

I would not make any prediction before I see who will be the referee, anyone knows ? A guy like Cortez would not let Peterson do much damage on the inside and Khan would coast to an easy UD and we all know what happened in the last fight, Peterson won the fight overall (I'm talking about who kicked the other guy's butt), but Khan would've won on a 10 point must system without the deductions... he even won it anyway on my card.

I'll be rooting for Peterson, because I don't like to watch Khan fight (bad footwork, hopping everywhere like an amateur) but I think the man from the UK will get his revenge. I would even say that he deserves it, somehow.

If he simply isn't built for inside fighting, the only solution I can think of is for him to learn how to tie someone up and spoil their work on the inside before they can start ripping those shots in. It probably takes strength and a certain sort of skill to do it, though -- Mayweather is very good at trapping people on the inside and stopping attempts at body shots. Wlad is also very successful at clinching and forcing his weight down upon the other person, although some of that is due to his natural size advantages.

Watch the Mcloskey southpaw fight then the Judah southpaw fight...

    Khan learns quick.

I think all he needs to do is really sit down on his punches when peterson walks into trying to wail at the body.

Sit down uppercut... that's all Khan needs.

This will be one of the keys in this rematch for Khan, Peterson is open to these on the inside all day, Khan needs to bust him up with uppercutts on the inside and also time him with them as Peterson walks in.

    :good

Khan won't ever transform into a good inside fighter. Very few fighters in the world these days are. The least he should do, though, is learn how to survive there. Tying up, locking the arms, spoiling, etc, are all good ways of limiting the opponent's success. Until he works out how to do this, he'll continue with the pushing and running - both which exert massive amounts of energy - and endangering himself further late on in a fight.
