was it round 9 when khan had lamont back up and hurt? That could have been a major turn around or so.

    looking forward to the rematch!

Freddie isn't acknowledging that his fighter doesn't know how to fight in the inside. All he said is he's gonna get a REF that won't allow Lamont to go head first into Amir rib's lol. Hence a ref who breaks opponents up once they get on the inside?

I wonder which ref is that?

    Bayless?

not that drunk ref... his fights always end in controversy. I think he should get a purse as well from the fighters cheque cos he brings some entertainment value to the fight.

I'd laugh if Joe Cooper's son came and reff'd.

    Hi guys,

Well its back to the day job now! 10 weeks of living and eating boxing, let me tell you I’m hungrier than ever to win back my world titles. What has gone in the past is history and all I’m thinking about now is May 19th when I will be able to redeem my belts and show the world that there is ‘no doubt’ I’m the best 140 pounder in the world.

As you’ve all seen in recent days myself and Lamont Peterson have kicked off the press tour to promote our rematch. The first one in London at the Hilton Metropole was a huge success and the interest amongst the world’s media has been amazing. The press conference was packed and I would like to thank all the media and fans for coming along, as well as Sincura and the Hilton for hosting the event.

This was the first time that I had come face-to-face with Lamont Peterson since our fight last December. I’m glad that we have managed to get the rematch on because this was one all fight fans wanted to see. Our first fight was a classic and I’m sure this time round it will be just as engrossing. I was a bit unsure what to expect from Team Peterson at the press conference but like myself they only want to look to May 19th in Las Vegas.

One thing I want to make clear though is that I’m not looking beyond this fight and am working only towards putting right the wrong of the last fight. I’ve never taken away how well Peterson fought in the ring that night and know that I will need to be at my very best to win back my belts. But I promise you will see the very best Amir Khan when fight night comes around.

I caught a flight to Washington on Wednesday for the press conference here before moving along to LA where I can really just concentrate on getting myself in to tip-top shape. The last six weeks of my camp will be in the Philippines where I will be training at altitude and I’m sure that’ll be hugely beneficial for a fight like this, especially if it goes late. I want to win this fight by knockout and leave the decision in no one else’s hands.

It’s nice to be back in America because I know now that it’s business time, it’s the time to put in work! It’s going to be a short stop off in Washington before I catch a flight to my adopted home city of LA. I’m looking forward to seeing Freddie Roach and the team again very soon. I’ve talked with Freddie on the phone a few times since I’ve been out of camp and I know that he has been working very hard on the strategy for the fight.

I’ll also be stopping off in New York on my way to LA to see my fiancée Faryal who I haven’t seen in a while since she saw me in Bolton. I can’t wait to see her and her family.

This Saturday I’ll also be commentating for Sky on the Mathew Macklin vs Sergio Martinez fight – I hope Matthew can win but it will be a tough fight.

Peterson said he’s willing to die in the ring to keep the belts and that he was back training the day after our first fight, but listen, I’ve done everything to make this rematch happen and you know what, I would fight him for nothing to win those titles back. Everyday since I’ve been back in the gym I’ve been pushing myself that little bit extra because I know now is the time to close the chapter on this saga once and for all and I can’t wait to hear the words ‘And the new…’ at the Mandalay Bay on May 19th.

My fans have been brilliant and I have a huge British contingent coming out to support me. Tickets are nearly sold out and UK fight fans can still buy theirs from www.sportscorporation.com, or if you are in the US or abroad from www.ticketmaster.com, but be quick because I’ve been told that they are going to be the hottest tickets in town come the weekend of the fight!

If you can’t make it to Las Vegas then you can tune in on Sky Sports 1 or HBO Sports. This fight is not to be missed! I’m going be victorious that night, but for now I’m going to do what I need to do in the press conferences before getting my head down and starting the real work!

    Speak soon.
