It's the referee's job to warn Khan about the clinching. If he's getting away with it, then the referee should be scrutinised for not doing his job correctly. khan never has clinched properly before. It's all good doing it in the gym, but he's shown to himself that he can bring it into the ring where it matters. Whenever Khan has been hurt in the past, he's either ran or started to trade with his opponent.

Anyway, i hope he won't be doing it as much as soon as he learns how to smother properly.

Good post. I don't question Khans heart l, just his skill. He's fast but he doesn't know how to avoid punches so he jumps on your neck. And you're right. A good ref wouldn't allow that excessive clinching to go on.

People really need to re-watch the Collazo-Ortiz match to really get an appreciation for Khan's domination of Collazo. Collazo has boxing skills. He was outboxing Ortiz before the KO. Maybe Ortiz was damaged goods but he's still a talented boxer. Collazo is not slow and he's slick. Is he Mayweather?? Definitely not. But he's a world class fighter like Malgnaggi has attested to recently. Even Malignaggi said it was a pick-em fight beforehand. It's just funny how people discredit a victory after the fact. The performance was good....it was promising. I agree that he needs another big win to really propel him back into the Mayweather sweepstakes if he wants the May 2015 fight. Porter I think is more winnable than people are making it out to be. His performances vs Julio Diaz were very average. He's had two good wins. He's definitely dangerous but they're all dangerous at this level. Khan's boxing skills are superior...it would just be question of keeping Porter at bay.
