The trouble with British boxing is that young fighters aren't tested properly until they reach the elite level. Promoters are too reluctant to put their fighter in with another promoter's fighter - instead feeding them chumps, the whole thing designed to retain the 0. This means that it takes far longer to adjust to defending, because the opponents are generally so feather fisted that you can just walk through them. Hence four KD's in 18 fights against smaller guys. Khan is a world class fighter with world class frailties - clearly defence, chin and the ability to fight on the inside. A prime Gomez would have re-designed his ribcage.
Khan can switch trainers all he wants, but it's not gonna address his most serious problem. You can't train a glass jaw - all the new trainers, all the careful match-making in the world won't protect those fragile whiskers when he gets to big leagues! :-(
