I'm not saying his chin has improved. But technique has. Better defensively and his corner is a lot better as he executes the game plan.

I'm not saying Khan has all of a sudden become a super boxer. There is room for improvement. The reason I think he can clean up the division is that the opposition isn't as great as first expected. Alexander and Bradley are not superstars either.

Khans issue still is that chin. As long as he doesnt get caught which he will somewhere down the line. He can ride this train up to the next division pick guys he can beat. After welter he might be in for a problem with even bigger hitters

I think it's important that Khan's mental idea of the fight (the one he spoke about in the video) is one in which Maidana is just going to keep coming, due to his heart. Khan was ringside at the Ortiz match, so he knows only too well how Maidana can take big shots and yet keep moving in for the kill. That's a crucial factor that cannot be underestimated. As long as he's prepared to keep moving and boxing without being dismayed at the fact that Maidana takes his shots, he has a chance at pulling this off.

I agree with you regarding Bradley and Alexander. While I do think Bradley is a very good fighter, stlye wise khan is not a good match up for him. Devon has the Shane mosley defense with not half of the offensive arsenal.

Regarding Khan, against Barrera, Kotelnik, Salita and Malignaggi it's hard to tell. We have already seen what type of stlye has given him problems and none of those 4 had the attirbutes to match that style. maidana has it all and he is having a very good camp with Miguel Diaz. I look forward to the fight and tip Marcos b/c of it.

    I don't think so.

IMO he'd see better success letting Khan expend a lot of energy in the early rounds. Maidana could fight with a high guard and attack Khan's body, eventually his hands would drop or he would get lazy and then he'd be ****ed. If he tries to bum rush Khan early he's just going to get countered and jabbed till his face swells up.

Maidana will try to stalk him all night long and hit him wherever he can. I really think this is a different Amir though who's hardened, still Maidana is an excellent stalker and may make Khan pay for any mistake. Khan needs to get in and out but also bust him up, hurt him and put him in a shell

I will be very dissapointed if Khan is stopped early even after knowing and presumably training on how to keep out of trouble.

Khans opposition hasn't been great. Barrera was past his best. Kotelnik played into the game plan. Nevertheles isn't al that bad. Salita didnt even get started but khan was always going to win. Malignagi is an akward fighter and grinds it out to the end.

This maidana fight is a good test and the differing styles is what make it interesting. They both bring something which can give them the win. I think can can out box him. There is always the fear of his chin getting tested. I think khan takes it.

I dont know, you only need to watch Maidanas fights to recognize he's a semi-slow starter, actually.. Khan is more of a blitzer than Maidana.

Maidanas power builds throughout, I think Khan should probably try to blitz him, the longer it goes the bigger chance Maidana catches him with a nasty body shot and makes him fold.

I think that will be maidana's gameplan, he's not going to do an audley and wait around forever and end up getting knocked out, im sure he'll come out early, Khan will be ready for it and excel right from the start, maidana's heart will keep him in it, but im afraid he wont be good enough for khan!
khan by late ko or UD

i have a feeling this is going to be very similar to carl froch vs abraham, khan wins an easy ud with 2 or 3 chin related scares

I expect the opposite, Maidana to come out slowly and alert, and look for opportunities to get in position and time Khan's right hand or land his own over Amir's jab. The thing is: Khan lacks good upper body and head movement and works mainly in staight lines, so if Maidana can work his angles and get around the guard he can inflict some damage, and don't forget he's a top notch body puncher too. Of course he has a pretty leaky defense, and it'll be hard - or come Sunday: impossible - to get past the Khan jab, but both vs. Ortiz and Kotelnik he gradually came closer and closer to his opponents chin and at some point he hurt them like all other opponents. Neither Kotelnik or Corley got to the cards without tasting Maidana's power, and those are the only two who didn't end up on the canvas. Very interesting fight, tough job for Khan.

This will be a good fight, can't wait!

Maidana is a good body puncher too. really good match up, props to both.
