Amir Khan has said there is "more than a 50 per cent chance" of him fighting multiple World champion Floyd Mayweather this year.

Khan, who faces Chris Algieri on 30 May, shares an advisor with Mayweather, Al Haymon.

The Bolton fighter says that his "youth, explosiveness, power, speed and movement" could give the man known as 'Money' a real test.

This clip was first broadcast on 5 live Sport on 13 May 2015.

  2. Amir Khan is a cherry pick!!!!
Remember that I said it first because this site will build him as the next monster for Floyd and that he will give him"problems".
Floyd will simply outbox him like he does everyone else and then you will call him the same thing.
Gas your picker up Floyd...with Premium chin check.

I may be wrong but I think everything points towards Khan being Mayweather's next opponent in September providing he puts in a good performance against Algieri.

Khan has to KO Algieri. That would establish him as a bigger test as Pac for Floyd -- which he will likely be.

It's the best realistic, non-rematch fight Floyd can have.

Is Khan still with Golden Boy? If so, I can also see Mayweather going for it because he wants Cinco de Mayo for himself and Golden Boy will move Canelo if they have Khan on that date, or at least Floyd will make sure they do.

At last a boxing fan who actually understands why Amir took this fight. A dominant win over Mr Algieri will allow TMT to build up an Amir-Floyd fight. Of course Amir has to stop Mr Algieri and I know he will. It looks like King Khan gets the big money fight against Mayweather. Who the hell needs Ezekiel Reid desperate Eddie Hearn the crook abd his lousy five million when we can have FMM and fifty million AND then get Kell and take his belt? Do the math folks.

Mayweather will get a ton of money whoever is his last opponent in September however I do feel Khan makes more financial sense than Garcia and Thurman. I'd imagine Floyd would do a press tour in the UK too which would be good for UK based fans like myself. :)

Another wiser boxing fan. Canelo is nothing. He always shouts and screams like a little girl that he wanta to fight on this day and that and then gets moved. Move along fat ginger boy.. you had your shot at Floyd and blew it like a cheap *****. Your small fry now.

Yes my friend. The Americans hate to admit that a British fighter is a bigger name than an American one but Amir is now much bigger than Garcia or Thurman. Thurman couldnt knock out old man Bundu or former Featherweight Champ Guerrero. He is nothing apart from a God to his insane fans. And Garcia has been rubbish in hiz last fights. Ever since he fluked that win over Amir its like he used up all his luck ti win that fight. Besides everyone knows that Amir was weight-drained and would destroy Danny at 147.

let's hope not. I think Thurman is a better challenge. Khan would get beaten pillar to post by Floyd
