Amir Khan needs to get himself out of boxing for the sake of his own health

    You're missing my point.

Its boxing. Guys will get KO'd,sometimes brutally.

Sometime people will get braindamaged they get beaten so bad,or on rare, rare occasions killed.

My issue is with little weasels who've in all likelihood never laced on gloves, getting darn near aroused when some guy gets brutally KO'd and openly admitting they want to see a fighter seriously hurt

Some of the most visually pleasing as well as goosebump-inducing moments in boxing are from savage brutal KO's.

Nobody makes them box. It's personal choice.

If you can't handle the brutality, don't watch it.

If you lace them up and are paid by the interest you generate from fans, then you are inviting yourself to criticism from those who are responsible for feeding your family.

(while I DO agree with what you're saying, I think at the same time it is totally reasonable...)

So you think comments like "I hope he gets brutally KTFO!!:lol:" Or "Im hoping he gets carried out on a ****ing stretcher:lol::lol:" are perfectly OK comments from mentally sound people?

I watch boxing for the skill and heart that these top class fighters have, and yes big KO's are huge events.

But my point is this. When I saw Hatton get planted by Pacquiao, the way I reacted was first by jumping up out of my chair, and then sitting back down in shocked disbelief,at the awesomness of what I just saw. Knowing that I had seen something special from a boxing viewpoint.

I didnt jump up,start laughing my head off,nad screaming **** YEAH HATTON, YOU GOT KTFO ***** HAHAHAHA!

Which from some posts here,is what I think some posters actually do in those situations.

I agree. If he can't improve his defence, he needs to call it a day. His punch resistence is weakening.

You might be right. It's not even just about his chin (which is bad) but his defence -- he simply takes too many punches. He's taken punishment against Limond (knocked down), Gomez (knocked down and took quite a few shots), Prescott (hit with massive punches and stopped), Maidana (badly hurt and very close to being stopped), Peterson (took a lot of heavy punches), Garcia (hit with very big punches and stopped), and now Diaz (knocked down and took a lot of heavy punches).

Is there really a point to taking even more punishment when he won't be able to beat the elite fighters in the sport? I do think his survival instincts have improved, but he had absolutely no answer for the left-hook, as usual. (At this point the left-hook is his worst nightmare, and every Khan opponent will try to use it -- Gomez, Prescott, Garcia and Diaz have all knocked him down or hurt him with it.)

He's only 26, but the wars he has been through has probably taken a lot out of his body. I don't think he's ever going to beat the elite fighters (unless he finds one who has almost no power), so I just wonder if there's any point to going on.

The stretch Khan had from Barrera to Maidana was the peak of his career. It's all down from here. Both in the ring performances and his long-term health.

He made a lot of money I guess I think maybe he'd have been better staying amateur, Possibly Could've had a silver and 2 Golds then start his pro career after London. Then at least he wouldn't be so battle worn already. He said something similar himself when commentating during the Olympics. I feel for the guy a little to be honest you can't fix dumb and his poor defence isn't doing him any favour in that regard.

Love to watch him though, The guys talent is immense and he's got real heart.

I agree. He has a BRIT tle chin and no power at all. But it is what it is. The kid is doing his best. The kid made a choice, its his choice, not ours! may god be with Amir.
