I think Amir Khan's biggest problem is that he is only thinking short term eg. fighting Devon Alexander or Floyd Mayweather. He needs to really think about a long term plan, if he wants to fight at 147 i think he should start by taking care of problems from his past, take on Bredis Prescott at 147. give Maidana a rematch. fight guys like Mike Jones, Randall Bailey, Carson Jones, Jan Zaveck and others. fight on some undercards - Amir Khan has never fought on an undercard in his career, every fight since his debut has been a main event. There's no harm in fighting on a Floyd Mayweather undercard on a PPV. He is a mid level name like Victor Ortiz, Devon Alexander or Andre Berto and he is not at the level of Marquez, Pacquiao, Mayweather or Martinez. Undefeated records are overrated in boxing and 3 defeats doesn't mean **** but his promoters and his team need to realise that he needs to build back up slowly. I would pay to watch Khan v Mayweather but it just doesn't make sense to have that fight within the next 12 months. Khan should choose his next fight carefully and maybe take on Kell Brook or Andre Berto or just take of Bredis Prescott once and for all. What does everyone think?
Here's the problem. Khan is already on the decline and his days at the top are numbered. If he takes the long-term route you're suggesting, he risks losing (or putting in more poor performances) and destroying all chances of having a megafight with anyone. Business-wise, it may be better to try and accelerate the process and get to that pot of gold (Mayweather) now rather than later when he gets worse. That's how Khan's team are looking at it. Take that risk against Alexander, because if it pays off, the Mayweather shot is guaranteed. They're cashing him out.
This guy never had it in him to think long term. Even before he started looking really bad he was saying I WANT TO RETIRE AT 30
He's already finished at the elite level. Did you see the Diaz fight? He looked utterly horrible, and his chin looked worse than ever. :rofl He's done, he never beat an elite fighter, and he never will.
What drugs were you influenced by watching the Diaz fight? Did you even see the same fight I did? He looked ****ing horrible.
If he fights any of the people you named there is a strong possibility he gets his glass jaw shattered. He has fought just 4 fighters in his career who could crack and he is 2-2 with 2 brutal KOs as his losses.
