Article suggesting that it would be too soon and JMM, Maidana, Casa would be opponents for Decemeber and that a fight with Mayweather could be on course http://www.guardian.co.uk/sport/2010/jun/10/amir-khan-floyd-mayweather Whereas this article suggests that Craig McEwan will fight on Khan's undercard at the O2 Arena on July 17th http://sport.scotsman.com/sport/Boxing-McEwan-fired-up-for.6353133.jp We'll know tonight if any of you are tuning into Buncey's show.
The guardian article is full of ****. They don't know what theyre talking abotu when it comes to boxing...or anything else for that matter.
I agree, that article was dismal. No quotes to back their claims of the July date not going ahead. I wouldn't take it too seriously.
I've heard that the july fight is off too,it kinda makes sense coz everyone wants Khan to fight big names and no-one will be ready in less than 8 weeks notice so its better if he leaves it and prepares for the fights withm proper time on his hands.
Fine. But if the quick july fight doesnt happen then the excuse for his next opponant being old, small and washed up goes completly out of the window. If hes leaving it til autumn which ought to have been the normal course of action anyway for a guy who last fought in mid may, then it HAS to be either Maidana, or Bradley next. Alexander is fighting too late in the summer to be ready for autumn. If he fights another smaller washed up man then he is a joke
