Amir Khan on defeat, in good spirits (Video)

I don't think anyone forgot. He got a lot of heat from the reasonable posters on here, but he followed it up by comprehensively beating Abraham and Johnson.

 

I did think Froch was too whiny after losing to Kessler, but he got over it, got the performances right after and (while he'll still grumble a lot about it) is markedly less aggressive and 'they're all against me' about how he lost.

So I repeat. Khan needs to face up to and accept why he lost if he's gonna grow from it, or he's doomed to repeat the same mistakes.

 

Exactly what I was thinking. And Khan was involved in a far more closer and controversial fight, too; giving him more reason to throw a fit.

I watched the fight again last night, and I think the ref was right to deduct at least one point. Khan was pulling the head down a lot, and literally pushing Peterson away to stop him from fighting him .

 

i would like to think that... but i just went back and watched a clip of the gomez-khan fight... and from my novice point of view.... khan has hardly changed when it come to facing a high pressure fighter who comes in on the inside. just watch the clip on youtube and he's doing the same things he did in the peterson fight. pushing off, eating uppercuts and taking damage to the body.

dont want to blame roach, but it looks like he hasnt learnt that much. yes, he has improved. and yes his punch resistance seems miles better now - although is that more to do with just being less drained at 140 than roach/ariza?

 

More to stop Peterson head butting him. Watching that compilation of Khan pushing you can see every time he does so Peterson has his head in Khan's face. I never saw Peterson warned for that. You can see a mile off that the marks on Khan's face aren't from punches.

Still, Khan shouldn't have gone to Peterson's backyard in a voluntary defence.
