Yes i do Sky are bankrolling the Groves Degale fight they actually are putting the 400k forward for the purses for that fight so i dont see why they cant whip out a few 100k for Khan and i think they were prepared to do it as well but now we will never know i guess....

i blame both khan's advisor and sky here.

khan's advisors should have realised the implications of this when leaving fw leaving him with no undercards to prop up ppv.

They could have negotiated gbp to work alongside fw, getting joint cards on depending on where he faught britain/america, that way every one wins.

why could not have sky put on a ppv with a reduced price say at 7.99.

Sky when making this decision must have looked at schedules elsewhere knowing it was going to impossible for khans team to get it screened elsewhere like itv. I think a bit of dirty tricks going on by them.

khan is getting a bad reputation through working with his family and family associates. Must be tough on the kid, doesn't come across the brightest either.

People have to realise he's just a boxer relying on others, in his case his family, who he trusts to make the right decisions for him.

I still think that revenue aside, Khan will gain more from fighting on a more widely available channel than an obscure one like Primetime.

If it was on SS3, even for a fraction of what they would get from PPV buys at Primetime, they would gain more from the exposure than the nominal fee that they are getting.

Obviously this is all just guess-work on what they will sell, but we can all take an educated stab at it.

As a side note, on SS3 nigh on every pub will have it on - I know the only reason my local doesn't show Khan fights is that they are PPV (and that's in a small valleys' town.)

Spot on. Primetime have offered them more, so they took it.

The thing is, ****ing Team Khan never think of the long term benefit. Always short term

Khan and his idiot team should think smarter,he isnt a hatton type popular guy, most people will NOT buy primetime ppv.

Had he given people a free fight he would have been seen by more people, and he would look good vs mccloskey and so then when he does get PPV vs Bradley a lot more people would buy it regardless of the under card.

Short term money rather than working on building a fanbase and earning more in the long run.:nono

What channel will Berto-Ortiz be on? If its on the primetime PPV card as well it'll still be pretty good value.

:yep Same old shite once the family & other associated parasites get involved who think of themselves as full-on worldly wise wheeler dealers.

Amir gets the flak & it ai'nt **** all to do with him. plenty of precedents like this in boxing history.

If Sky didn’t think it was worthwhile doing a PPV on this fight, even with all of its marketing muscle, then how will Primetime do anything with it?

It’s just pure arrogance. Khan’s people have decided he’s a bigger deal than he is, even if it means scuppering his career in the UK. Come back, Fwank – all is forgiven!

Let’s say they get the 50,000 that Froch attracts on Primetime (I don’t think it was even that high for Khan ever), but no one else sees the fight. They’ve gained nothing promotion-wise, they gain very little financially and they’ve pissed away a chance to build Bradley-Khan.

Without the Sky sports news bigging it up and ads on sky football and the like, as a PPV event in England, is going to absolutely bomb.

    £17.50?! Good grief.

My only hope for people in Ireland is that RTE / BBC Ni spot a gap in the market and get it shown over here without spending that farcical amount on this, with its terrible undercard

Can someone explain to me why (outside the likes of us losers) anyone will be interested in Khan Bradley on PPV?!

Bradley is unknown to the average sports fan and imo is pretty shite to watch, 4am from Vegas, Khan doenst do big PPV numbers with Warren backing him - it would be a disaster

£15.00 + £2.50 ... if true then absolute madness. It fail to see how Team Khan will receive anywhere near SKY's SS3 offer.

    Eddie Hearn on twitter....

Khan fight announced on Primetime - some of the quotes from the press release make me cringe. In short this is commercial suicide.
