I'm sorry Laz but how can you look on this lightly, this isn't a matter of if you don't like it then you don't watch or buy it. Team Khan have been exceptionally parochial by deciding to put this on Primetime and potentially damaging their relationship with Sky to the point were it is beyond repair.

They have decided to go for a few extra £ for one fight but haven't looked further ahead from this fight, they have decided that it would be better to charge the fans rather than rewarding the fans by putting it on to free to air, there are two major reasons why people are outraged.

Khan has had the opportunities that Carl Froch has been begging for and yet he has thrown it in Sky's and his fans faces, he will likely now find himself in the same position as Froch. And you know what as long as he keeps his Team of Cowboys I hope his name dwindles further and further into the darkness in the UK.

Thats so true. Froch would love to be on SBO or Sky Sports. For Khan to say his doing it for the fans is laughable. Sky offered him a way out which in truth would of been better for the fans and walked away. He doesnt give a damn.

Regular sky sports could have been brilliant for Khan and boxing in general!

Whilst I agree with you and everyone else (except from Team Khan apparently) that this fight should be on normal Sky Sports, don't forget that Carl Froch had been offered similar deals before. I expect that the money would have inevitably been less though.

It's all a case of making more money. Team Khan obviously have good enough reason to believe they'll make more from fighting on a pay per view than sky were prepared to offer. That's exactly the same stance that Froch's team have been taking for the past 2 years or so as well.

I'm aware that Mick Hennessey still takes a hell of a lot of stick for that today but it's the same situation with the only difference being that Froch's fights have always been more competitive than Khan/McCloskey will likely be.

Froch would of got to Sky Box Office. Initially he may of had to take less but he would of made it to the bigtime and the exposure he would of got would of been well worth the less money.

The big difference though is that you could pretty much guarantee that Khan would eventually get back on to Sky Box Office and in all likeliness it would have been for his next fight.

And to be honest Carl should have accepted those Sky offers, afterall he was already making a tidy $ from Showtime as it was so losing a few £ by being on regular Sky isn't the end of the world, after 2 or 3 major fights there is probably a decent chance that he would have got onto Sky Box Office.

I would love to know what Sky offered Carl Froch and Amir Khan, initial figures seemed to be for 250k and then Team Khan said that they got offered 100k by Sky, so where did that 250k figure come from?

    This is the main point.

Khan management missed a trick with this one. Hatton got so popular with his WBU reign of terror, otherwise he wouldn't have had the big PPVs down the line.

So they have potentially damaged not only his reputation but his future earnings.

Khan spent the early-mid part of his career fighting Prescott and other bums in total jokes of PPV events.
You reap what you sow and as far as Im concerned if he had been fighting on free to air or even regular sky he would be raking in PPV money now, but nobody gives a ****.
