What planet do you people live on where pluck these sums out of the air and state them as facts. You read the OP.. and then you came up with that. Putting aside for the moment the actual figure...

£400k...okay. HBO, broadcasting the fight in PRIMETIME US Television to the US Market are paying Khan £615k.

Now you think that the BSKYB, are now going to pay him almost 70% of that, 400k, to show it to the UK PPV market at a mere 11 million or so subscribers, at 4.30am..... This is forgotting the fact that despite the Chisora cancellation Warren is still taking the majority of the distributed fee.

Half of the arguments on these website about who's owed what from what purses, about how X fighter shouldn't be getting a particular purse because in his last fights he only got XYZ.. are all based on morons like the above poster plucking up a sum on a subject he knows nothing about.. which others then regurgitate, and it ends up being a bull**** argument over "facts" which are themselves some other dickheads bull****

    Wait a minute....

I thought part of Amir Khan's contract with GBP is that everyone of his fights he gets a guranteed $1million to him?

A decent pay day but miniscule when compared to what Wayne Rooney or any other top premiership player earns in the same time period.

Just thinking that because it's worth million dollars in the US, it "must be around" 400k dollars in the UK isnt the way to go about it though. Think of it this way.. when he was regularly on SKY PPV in bouts in the UK, for his world title bid on UK primetime, he would of gotten less than half that.

You can actually see for yourself if you search on Frank Warrens comments from around the time of the Khan split in which he says he was prepared to make Khan a record sum into the 6 figures.

The reason the Malignaggi bout wasn't on Sky was because TK came back from the US with some completely insane ideas about what Boxing and specifically Khan is worth to the UK market, forgotting the fact the UK market for boxing is very small, the only times it soars and starts generating numbers like your guessing is when you have a fight that breaches out of the confines of the boxing fans and gains crossover appeal to other sports fans. This is the holy grail in British boxing, those fans are what you need to make serious money. David Hayes done it, Hatton did in a fashion nobody ever will again, and perhaps Froch might be able to... Khan could aswell, but he won't fighting Maidana in the early hours of the morning at this stage in his career
