Amir Khan set for WBA light-welterweight defence against hard-hitting Marcos Maidana

OMG just watched the full Maidana V Corley fight. Khan wins quite easily. Maidana is SLOW beyond belief. Corley managed to slip a lot of his shots. Jis punches seem to come from a mile away, and he sends that telegram a week in advance! Khan will smack him up, Maidana will not be able to get anything off. He has no jab to speak of, no footwork, no head movement.

I think Khan will overwhelm him to a TKO. Maidana will be dangerous early purely because the kid has got power. If Khan jabs and moves for 4 to 5 rounds, he can set it up nicely, once Maidana loses the sting in his punches, thats it, Khan will outbox him, UD or late TKO.

And no Maidana won't land those bombs, as I say, he winds them right back and gives you plenty of advanced notice of the delivery! Khan will kick himself getting hit by that, be almost embarrasing.

 

They made sure he was shooting blanks first- typical.

 

I don't see where the Maidana hype came from in the first place. Why are people shocked by this weekends fight? He was never exactly Pernell Whittaker was he? Hes very crude, pretty slow, but has hard hands. The fight with Corley doesn't change anything. He has just as much a chance of beating Khan now than he did before Saturday: which is a decent chance; assuming he can land on Khans chin.
