So Amir Khan is going to sign with A Mere Con.

Sad, but Boxing is going to need a Haymon Act to bring the Ali Act up to speed since Haymon is basically skirting the edges of the law to bring back the same abuses the Ali Act was designed to stop.

How is he violating the Ali act? This is a serious question, the man is mystery. I don't know much about how much he does.

He acts as manager + de facto promoter, which is proscribed as its a conflict of interest. Also, having to sign with him to get fights. Being required to sign managerial or promotional contracts to get fights was also proscribed.

Having a direct or indirect financial interest in a manager as a promoter, or a promoter as a manager is also prohibited.

Haymon requiring people to sign with him to get certain fights. Prohibited as well... though often unenforceable, especially on the small scale.. its became so blatant here its hard to ignore.

Just for public reading - the actual law:

I'm familiar with the Ali act itself. My question is in regards to specific evidence. In the end, it's probably very hard to prove.

Yeah, it is. Even though its "generally known " that to get fights with Haymon fighters or fight on SHO, you want to sign with Haymon theres currently not much to be done until someone filea an actual specific complaint with evidence.

Which is why I was saying Ali Act is going to need to be updated with a Haymon Act at some point. Having to sign away large portions of your purse to a managerial kingpin acting as an "advisor" to get TV/major fight access is obviously occurring and obviously bad mojo.

But for now, noone can seem to do anything about it. Haymon is Don King 2.0, but he will probably get away with it for a couple decades.

Yep. The guy makes Arum and King look like Al Capone and Arnold Rothstein.

Of course he will. You don't think he took the fight because he believes he can win, do you?
    It's all about the cash!
