    They are not meant to be. The title says sports Personality of the year; not best sportsman...

    And back in the day, it is why a Cricketer won it (David Steele), for getting lost trying to find his way out of the Lords Pavilion, to bat for England.

    This thread is clearly a thinly veiled attempt to encourage more ridicule directed at Khan. Yes his recent whining has been unedifying/undignified but the way some folk have been droning on you'd think he was Britain's most prolific ******.

    You knew very well before you even started this thread that he had no chance of winning, even before he lost his titles, due to the fact that the public at large don't really give a **** about boxing, combined with the fact that Amir is a dim boy devoid of personality whose achievements in the ring prior to his loss to Peterson were solid as opposed to spectacular.

    This thread wasn't a thinly veiled anything, it is just a joke about the criticism Khan has been coming under for his attitude since the Peterson loss and the fact that he's currently being advertised on the bbc as a potential SPOTY.

    Where's the harm in laughing about that? He's behaving like a wally and he's getting a bit of stick for it? A joke based around a moving gif image. Not the end of the world.

    Khan has no personality to speak of so he should not win it especially since he lost to Peterson and know he was not cheated. If the referee has warned you several times for pushing you stop doing it. Ifhe has deducted a point from you already then you are pretty dumb to carry on doing it and again I the last round of a tight fight.

    This program has gone down hill so much in recent years ...

    Its all political nowadays and people that win this nowadays would have got nowhere a decade ago .
