In boxing terms someone may be a coward if they duck and make money from the Rod Salka's of boxing, but as a man, I don't necessarily consider them as cowards.
How high is boxing on their list of priorities in life? The fact is, the ones we pay attention to are at the world level in their career. How many of us can say that about ourselves in our career?

If I were a boxer, I'd be a Floyd Mayweather.
Pretend to want to give the fans a show, safety first, make money. Be disliked if it means getting more money. For every person who would dislike me, if it meant getting money from them, it's brilliant, right? People would be PAYING ME by wanting to see me lose. That, is what you call an expert con artist.
Earn seven figures without having to raise a finger each month.

Where are all of these fans to support you when you have the onset of a severe disease? Exactly.

Yeah but why become a boxer anyway if you don't want to be brain damaged? It's not like Mayweather is perfectly healthy after all those sparring sessions and training even if he wasn't knocked out left and right during his fights.

There are other sports with high money rewards where there's no brain damage involved.

I think that fighters will always be specific people and it's fair to expect bravery from them, that's why we respect them in the first place. Why would I respect someone just because he's earning money, could as well watch some reality show with rich people...

With most boxers, it's the only thing they're good at and for many, it's a release/escape, and something that they can earn a living from.

Once you get the big paychecks and you realise you don't want to just be a boxer but you can have a life beyond it, cherry picking isn't a bad idea.

I have a quiet respect for anyone who had the courage to get into the ring even if they suck.

Floyd likes to act like he cares about the fact this sport is dangerous but watching him laugh at fighters getting concussed in his gym going through wars doesn't support his statements.

This ain't a sport for *****es. If you a *****, then don't bother lacing on the gloves. Those gloves are a contract to kick ass and be manly. Putting them on and then acting like a sissy makes you a fraud.

Exactly, if I wanted to watch world class athletes act like pampered babies I'd watch soccer. I like boxing because it's about risk, courage, strength, and machismo. The rest of you can go watch ice skating, ladies volleyball, or equestrian dressage if you aren't into that.

Same here. People who never trained don't know how hard it is.

Boxing is more than a sport! You play sports, you don't play boxing! Ask any pro athelete what they do for a living and they will say I play this or I play that. The key word in those responses is PLAY. You never in your life heard a pro boxer say , when asked what they do, respond, I play boxing! Bottom line, there is too much money getting made from boxing to change it. The promotors build up a guy, make him into something very special, make comparisons to the Sugars or Ali's of yester year, put him in there with guys that make him look good, make money. While another promoter is doing the same thing with another guy and sooner or later, mostly later, their paths will cross making for the fight of the centery. 100's of millions are made and everyone that matters is happy. By the way, Fans don't matter!
