Yes he should of taken that fight but before Maidana beat Broner Khan was leading the race to face him so Maidana's win kinda messed Khans plan up.

Who cares if he was leading the race to fight Mayweather? That proposed fight would be in May. Why pass up a title opportunity against Alexander in November?

    I agree.

Khan hasn't done anything to deserve the fight since the Garcia loss but from a style match-up he may well have presented Mayweather with his toughest fight since Castillo.

He's actually always done well against more defensive based slicker fighters like Kotelnik, McCloskey and Paul Malignaggi all be it that none of them are a patch on Floyd on any level. Khan would certainly match Mayweather for speed and footwork and could have caused him major problems, at least for the first half of the fight.

Khan should have taken the Alexander fight, holding a belt at 147lbs would have made a Mayweather fight more legit in the eyes of the fans.

As for Maidana, i understand from a PPV angle they can sell it as Maidana being the conquer of the Mayweather clone in Broner but we all know thats BS as Broner doesen't fight anything like Floyd, certainly in terms of footwork and he'll beat Marcos just as easily as Alexander did.

Maidana is a foot planter which means he needs to plant his feet to punch, Mayweather can read fighters like this from a mile off wheras Khan would have presented him with something new we haven't had in a Floyd opponent for a long long time.

Shame, the undercard better be good.

I wanted him to fight Alexander too.. But he was told to pull out..

I don't think Khan ducked him because Khan fights anyone.. But o think GBP pulled the fight..

Bundu, Bradley, Lara, and the Charlo brothers all have a better chance of outscoring and outpointing Mayweather than Khan based either on styles, ability and/or skill-set.

Maidana has a chance to blast Mayweather out if FMJ lapses for a moment. At the very least, it could be fun to watch him try. More fun than watching Khan flit around the ring like a hummingbird that was bounced off the walls one too many times...

I remember last summer Schaefer saying Khan would be a legit option for Floys if he could win a title at WW. It would be odd for GBP to pull the plug on that fight.

    Boxing intelligence beats stupidity
    Timing beats speed

Watch the Garcia KO. You see the way he kills Khan with well-timed punches that Khan actually enhances with his own stupidity?

Well think of that except happening regularly in every round.

If Khan is so good he'll have no problem winning a title and earning his shot.

Khan's team who knew there is a good chance he'll be sparked out every time he enters the ring didn't want to take the risk. It's obvious.

Khan himself might be stupid enough to believe that's not the case, but why would Mayweather not want to fight Khan off the back of a WW title win? Doesn't that make for an easier sell?

He'd be somewhere on top of welter if Khan was relevant. Just saying.

It so appears that Ward's article about Maidana' speed and power made Void chicken out.............Void hates speed and power. The fighter everyone wants Void to fight is Pac, Void has been running form Pac for years now...............Void is supposed to be the 154 lbs. champ, yet he refuses to fight anyone at 154.........

Void also appears to have decided to fight the fighter that Khan beat..............

LOL @ Khan outboxing Mayweather and being this "tough style matchup" for Floyd. His skills aren't even that good, he's just a guy with some speed and range and a nice jab.

I hope Khan wins his next fight and then faces Floyd later this year so I can laugh at all the laughable "Khan will give Mayweather hell" comments.
