I hope this fight pulls thought, very good fight for the boxing fans. I think Khan outboxes him and stops him late.
No one needs to shut up about his suspect chin, that's what has the potential to make his fights against live opponents exciting after all. However, if he gets past Maidana he gets some respect, definately.
I agree - look at Lennox Lewis against McCall - Lennox was a far more skilled fighter, but he got a little cocky and overconfident with his unblemished record and look what happend...had he fought McCall the first time with a lot of respect for his opponents punching power he'd not have been so cocky. Then after this fight he got with Manny and improved his game...racked up a bunch of wins till he got to Rahman...again he'd started to get cocky and said before the Rahman fight that Rahman wasn't particularly talented....and look how he prepared and actually fought him...then look at the difference in the rematch. Losses definately give some fighters a much needed wake up call. Now this possible Khan v Maidana fight...do you people know that Warrens grip on Khan is coming to an end?? 2 things come to mind here - Khan naturally wont want to give up his precious title...and the proud warrior in him will wanna defend and get past what i'm sure he considers a very dangerous opponent. But better to try and come through it than ditch your title and duck which would be the cowards way and wouldn't do his credibility much favours. Read this.. So its not hard to see how even Warren could want this fight. Were otherwise he may wanna be protective.
Good fight, Khan can win with his improved defence, Maidana can be outboxed. Khan UD. Hopefuly he can think about unification after this fight, could turn out to be a good division with Khan, Bradley, Urango (if he doesn't stay at WW), Holt etc.
Some twat in the British forum. When asked for a source he posted a bottle of ketchup. Say no more . . . .
Sounds too good to be true. Please God make this happen If he does decide to take him on, then you have to respect his heart and desire. If he goes one further and comprehensively beats him, I for one would be very impressed. Maidana is 10 times the fighter Prescott is, and a victory over him will certainly rest them ghosts for good. Early Prediction....Maidana by late stoppage
