Just to let you know guys, BoxRec has Mayweather and Mosley set for May 1 and they also seem to have Amir Khan and Juan Manual Marquez on the same date on the under-card, but they still seem to think Khan will be fighting Marcos Rene Maidana in April. People are saying BoxRec is not a good source, but in the past BoxRec have been very accurate.

Khan and Marquez undercard fighters? Doubt it that fight is a main even in its own right

it wouldnt make sense to put khan-marquez on the undercard you could make khan-marquez another day and make more money

Highly doubt that, Juan Manuel Marquez vs Amir Khan is a good fight that deserves it's own spotlight.

Rafael in his notebook reports that HBO is trying to finalize JMM-Khan on May 15.

For the boxing fan yes, but for the casual fan not a whole lot of people that I know have ever heard of Khan.

I think Marquez-Khan is a great idea as an undercard for Mayweather-Mosley for the simple reason that in the US, alof of Latino fans are going to be riding the fence whether to purchase Mayweather-Mosley.

You throw in JMM against a legit live foe like Khan, and it about ensures that Mosley-Mayweather will be a huge sucess.

I'm not kidding here. Imo Mayweather-Mosley on its own merits with their fanbase may do less than expected.......and certainly GBP cant afford to have Mayweather-Mosley flop at the PPV market and then feel that the winner will have bargaining leverage against a possible fall date against Pacquiao.

Boxrec also says Maidana is fighting Khan on the Jones-Hopkins rematch which they have listed for April 17th when its now the 3rd of April. Khan-JMM will never be on a PPV undercard its to big its set for HBO World Championship Boxing on May 15th and the likely undercard is Victor Ortiz vs Nate Campbell.

You honestly believe JMM-Khan would do well on the PPV market???
Unless you're Ali, Tyson, DLH......you need two names in that type of setting.

Marquez vs Pac, Mosley, Mayweather, Cotto, Hatton......yeah, those are PPV fights, but not a Khan fight.

JMM-Khan on its own merits would be a free HBO fight, but not a PPV fight.......which is the reason that imo, GBP would do themselves a service by paying Marquez what he would normally make if the matchup was as a main event on a non-PPV HBO fight.

.......it would be an investment for GBP to ensure that Mayweather-Mosley does well as far as PPV buys.

They put John-Juarez II on the Mayweather-Marquez undercard and that was a fight that easily could have been the main event on a HBO WCB card.

Khan isn't going to fight Maidana when he could make a substantial amount more fighting Marquez.
