Amir Khan -V- Junior Witter : Homecoming Domestic Bout

Witter will always remain an enigma. He looked very good at times, very bad at others, and then very possibly left it all a bit late as far as fighting the top guys in his division. Poor management really, his prime had to be when he was early to late 20's but they wasted it and he went stale leading to poor performances.

 

Exactly, he destroys that guy and then you see Paul McCloskey in his prime struggling to put him away. He was very good, and he definitely was a puncher despite the modest KO %.

 

IMO Khan v Bradley(if they keep winning) would be a big fight but not a huge one. I think the HBO offer for the Maidana fight was 1.4m uk (uk time), 1.7m uk (3am in uk), 2m in the USA.
They should be able to make a decent offer for it be in the uk(not the best which will of course be for it to be in the USA). As long as they don't burn money on Berto or Dawson for the undercard, it might be good enough.

 

The offer for a UK prime, tape delay in the USA was around 750,000 dollars for the Maidana fight. It's a hugely significant drop.

It simply won't happen, Khan Vs Bradley will be in the USA. Nobody is going to stay in an Arena till 3.30am in the UK

 

When you watch Witter brutalizing Lauri there, a solid performer, no great shakes but not a bum either. Walking him down, planting his feet properly, deadly accurate with all kinds of shots. You wonder how the **** he struggled to put Colin Lynes away. That kind of inconsistency plagued him. Maybe its the vaguearies of that particular style, he didn't always have his timing spot on.

 

Yeah, he treat Lauri like a 3rd rate sparring partner..... but then struggled like hell with Lynes and probably only won because Lynes didn't really believe in his ability to get the job done.

My mistake on the uk time money. 2 am is a more realistic start time. I doubt it'll be PPV where the main event starts much later.

 

It wouldn't start later, remember 3am is HBO prime. It would definately be PPV

 

Not always, HBO can start between 2-4 am uk.
I don't see it being PPV myself. Bradley isn't a big draw and Khan isn't big over in the states.

 

2.30am in New York, 4.30am in Vegas. The whole purpose of the upcoming bouts is to build the final match into a 140 unification PPV event.

 

Khan would spank him worse than Alexander.

 

I'd love to see this fight. But from what I hear Witter is heading to 147. But if they can work something out after Maidana I would love to see it.
