This content is protected Oscar de la Hoya believes Khan can get on the track once again Boxing News After his career devastating knockout loss to unbeaten American fighter Danny Garcia, Briton fighter Amir Khan received ugly remarks from every nook of the world. What was most shocking for him was the fact that even his fellow Briton fighters were calling him a write off. Fortunately, Khan still has some admirers, such as David Haye and Oscar de la Hoya. Previously, Haye claimed that Khan is too young to be judged and that he has manifold years ahead of him to work on his weaknesses. Now, it is retired fighter Oscar de la Hoya who is backing up Khan, saying that the Bolton proud needs just two more wins to be on the track once again. I believe the Mayweather fight isn't dead because Amir Khan is a tremendous boxer and puncher, said Hoya, regarding Khans possible fight against unbeaten American Floyd Mayweather. We get him another win or two wins and he's back in the picture because of his talent and abilities, he added. Amir Khan, he will be back. There's no question about that, Amir will be back. We'll definitely have to analyse where Amir goes next and talk to his team and talk to Amir, added the US ring legend. But why wouldn't we want to see a rematch? Amir Khan was leading the whole fight. There are different possibilities for Danny and Amir, but one of those possibilities is a rematch, said Hoya regarding the possibility of a rematch against Danny Garcia. According to Hoya, anything is possible. He believes that Khans fight against Garcia was entertaining and so there should be another one to decide who is the better fighter. It should be noted here that Khan was pressing Garcia for a December rematch but the now WBA and WBC light welterweight titlist went for a rematch against Mexican legend Erik Morales. Khan is now finding an opponent for a fight in December this year.
Trainer Naazim Richardson has refused to confirm whether or not he has been the subject of an approach from Amir Khan. Khan is expected to leave Freddie Roach, his current coach, in the near future - and Richardson is the man heavily tipped to replace him. Former light-welterweight world champion Khan has revealed he is looking for a trainer who will sharpen up his defence, following a devastating stoppage loss to Danny Garcia in July, which saw him surrender the WBA crown. However, Richardson thinks the problem is not with Khan's elusiveness, but instead with the division he is competing in. "At the end of the day, Amir has to pick someone who is going to get him comfortable in his own skin," Richardson told fighthype.com. "I don't think he should compete at 140lbs anymore. They have to get him in a comfortable place. "It's not just about defence with Amir - it has to do with who he's fighting. When you're fighting a guy [Garcia] that walks around at Lucian Bute's [the former IBF super-middleweight champion] size and they sweat down to 140, and you get hit with a clean shot, that has nothing to do with defence. "Garcia wins fights at the scale and as long as he can make 140, he's going to be a problem for a lot of guys. That's the thing people have to understand. But Amir needs to be at a comfortable weight and when you look at his shoulders and things of that nature, he doesn't have the easiest cut to 140. Danny has it down to a science." Richardson has trained, among others, Shane Mosley and Bernard Hopkins - both of whom are expected to act as a mentor to Khan in future.
I think this is a bad idea. He needed someone like Kenny Adams or Virgil Hunter. As we all know Khan isn't the smartest boxer out there. He will easily get confused on who to listen to. On top of that paying for 2 trainers and Ariza... too much? How much do u think he'd have to pay? He just needs to listen to them, stop being arrogant, and become a gym rat. Doubt tht will happen. He never took any of his bouts seriously after the Judah bout.

Trainer Freddie Roach advised BScene.com that he is likely parting ways with former junior welterweight champion Amir Khan. The British star is telling media that he plans to announce his new trainer next week. According to Roach, Khan's manager Asif Vali, and the boxer's father Shah Khan, were willing to keep Roach in place - but only if the hall-of-fame trainer was willing to dump Manny Pacquiao and Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. After his July TKO loss to Danny Garcia, Khan was very vocal about not spending enough training time with Roach. The British boxer took part in a joint camp with Pacquiao, who was preparing for a June fight with Timothy Bradley. Roach has often paired Khan and Pacquiao in joint camps due to scheduling conflicts. "They told me this, and this is pretty good.....they told me if I make Amir number one, and get rid of Manny and Chavez, they will still come back to me," Roach told ***********.com. "[They said] if we're number one and you get rid of Manny and Chavez, we'll stay with you. I told them 'I can't do that.' They asked me that question face to face and on the phone." Even though Amir is going in another direction, there are no hard feelings. "I like Amir, I wish him nothing but the best," Roach said.
I mean how stupid can Team Khan get? Roach wouldn't drop his 'son'. I wonder if a Roach fighter will ever be in the opposite corner facing Khan. That would be fun to watch.
