Floyd Snr said it how can a guy (Freddie) teach you something he doesn't know. Freddie as a fighter wasn't Mr Defence 1st.

    Speed kills.

Amir needs to ease off the exhilarator peddle and put his foot on the brakes. Take is easy, speeding kills. He was throwing an uppercut from way out, it was more of a flurry with an upper cut at the end of the sequence lol. Got caught with a sweeping left hook.

He should pot shot not. Those pitty pat **** he get's away with that in the AM's (amateurs) but in the pros-that **** can get you KTFO.

Thing with pacquiao is he does it but he's already got the opponent on a defensive.Cause Manny' shots have mustard on them. They actually snaps the opponents head back.

Hire Bernard Hopkins to tuck his chin behind his left jab and learn how to break the action.

despite all khans talent theres such glaring weaknesses in his game

1 - he has a terrible chin, something he has seemed to be in denial about. after prescott, they realised how bad it was and they sorted his high glove defence and stopped him exchanging with opponents, khan looked great tactically v barerra, kotelnik, salit, malignaggi. the worst thing that happenned to khan was the maidana fight, because khan survived, him and his fans started getting false opinions about how strong his chin is, was the same for the peterson fight, khan exchanging and leaving himself open as though he thinks he's got a good chin. the 1st step of khans recovery needs to be to realise that his chin is terrible and he needs to protect it at all costs during fights.

2 - starting like a whirlwind, ok its great the first 5 or 6 rounds but that huge early workrate is leaving him with stamina problems in the 2nd half of fights. he needs to pace himself better.

3 - he needs to quit exchanging and leaving himself open. fight in bursts but get back out of the pocket, straight in and out, and not standing there getting in toe to toe battles.

4 - inside game, kahn simply doesn't have one, he doesn't know how to work up close and he doesn't know how to clinch and break the action. the only method khan has is to repeatedly push his opponent away which leads to warnings from the ref.

5 - when hurt and in trouble khan needs to learn to clinch and bide time to clear his head. it took hearns a long time to learn this and i'm not sure if khan ever will, his natural instincts are to fight back or run.

6 - quit the false opinion of himself. khan needs to quit talking as though hes a truely elite fighter, quit the talk of giving others paydays, quit the talk of him being the draw, quit talking about being on a different level to his opponent, quit looking past his opponent and talking about who he's gonna fight next and get a reality check and 100% focus on his opponent.

7 - new trainer? - maybe, if time and travelling are a real problem but khan needs to quit with the excuses and take sole responsability for his downfalls instead of pointing the finger at others for his defeats. many of khans problems listed above come from his own instincts, i think any trainer is gonna have difficulty coaching some of this stuff out of him.

“I thought that Danny, after the first round, he was getting hit with those right hands, he started to take the right hands away from Amir,” Steward stated. “After that, the fight was still, with Amir’s speed and intensity, he was still winning the fight. But Danny just fights the way that Danny always fights; consistent, always right there. Much like he did in the amateurs. Never impressive but steadily winning tournaments.”
The left hook that Garcia leveled Khan with caught him a little bit on his neck and seemed to throw off his equilibrium, as he was clearly on shaky legs after rising. A respectful Steward pointed out that it wasn’t necessarily as much as what Khan did incorrectly as opposed to the former champion simply paying the price for putting his neck on the line.
“I thought that, when Amir got caught, it was nothing that he did wrong,” Steward added. “He didn’t do anything wrong. He was just in the middle of an exchange and Garcia caught him with a shot. From that point on, he did a great job of finishing him, because he never got overexcited and started throwing wild punches. He placed his punches very carefully.”
    .
And even though this setback may look disastrous on the surface, Steward stayed classy while giving Khan his respect.
“I give Amir Khan a lot of credit, being hurt the way he was, he still gave us almost a total of three or four minutes of Gatti-Ward action,” Steward said. “He was fighting the best he could, even though he didn’t have control of his coordination. He was groggy but he still knew what was going on. He was still fighting. He fought all the way through that round and came back the next round and still fought his *ss off again until he was finally stopped. I give him a lot of credit and a whole lot of credit for Garcia being consistent.”
Still only 25 years old, the Garcia fight marks Khan’s third loss as a professional, as he dropped a split-decision to Lamont Peterson this past December while being halting in harrowing fashion by Breidis Prescott in September of 2008. There is an extreme uncertainty as to what the future holds for Khan and at this point it can be hard to see all of the positives that he still has going for himself.
Steward wants to see Khan again but also suggests that he take some time off.
“Everybody in boxing for the most part is writing him off, saying he should quit,” Steward pointed out. “The fact that he’s been hurt so many times this early in his career, I guess this is about the fourth or fifth time now, I think he should take the time off. I think he should fight again. Unlike everyone else said, I didn’t see a weak chin, he just got caught. This just happens. Anytime you’ve got guys exchanging, it happens.”
Well-versed in fine-tuning several world-class fighters in his day, there are some deficiencies that Steward would change if he was handling Khan.
“He’s got to work on one particular punch. Every time I visualize him, I always see him getting hit with clubbing right hands and his body swaying off to the right. Whether it was Lamont Peterson or Maidana or in this fight, even though he was hurt initially with a left look. He needs to work on his boxing and work on building up a defense for right hands. And just settle down; I still think he’s a very good fighter,” stated Steward.

    ---

Why doesn't Roach see this lol. Didn't he teach Manny to throw that left hook as if Manny isn't looking directly at you at it just connects? The thing I find funny is when Amir went back to the corner the only thing Roach said to Khan was 'are you okay son' LOL. I was thinking 'well duhh he's obv not okay' hahaha

Khan should retire, he is so weak. He was rocked against Maidana (other refs might have stopped it in the 10th), rocked against Petersen and KO'ed against Garcia.

It is exciting seeing him fight but he is going to keep getting Knocked out. I think he is too arrogant, does not respect other fighters enough and is always looking past people.

His management team are a bunch of shits and in the end Khan has ****ed up his career not for lack of heart/talent but through sheer arrogance.

He can't fight on the inside and can't defend himself.

"Khan is a good fighter, but I tell you, I don't think Khan can make 140 pounds anymore. He is one of those guys I remember when he approached me, I was looking at his shoulders and **** and he is a big dude. Zab probably should have been his last fight at that weight. Lamont dug in him a little bit and now Danny stopped him, so he needs to get out of that division. I don't think it's an easy weight for him to make anymore. He's been talking about moving up. And the funny thing is, he was faster than Danny and he may be a better fighter than Danny, but some things you can't teach or they don't show up on paper."
