is a payday for kahn and casamayor.. the funny thing is khan probably thinks is an easy fight and it might be but i hope casamayor can come in great shape and be half of what he used to be and he'll win

I guess Khan could have done worse than Casamayor (although he's clearly past is best and above his ideal weight). It's obvious that he wasn't going to fight a non G.B. fighter and being that all of the viable/credible opponents are unavailable, Casa has a name that at least elicits some level of intrigue.

Although it had zero chance of happening, I would have liked to see a fight against Funeka.

Not good, he lost two-three rounds to a club fighter on a ZAB JUDAH undercard of all things

I agree with a previous post, if Khan is going to have a meaningless fight, atleast fight Prescott and avenge his only loss, so that the critics can't hang on to that one loss all the time.

How about you wait after the Casa fight? If you actually READ THE THREAD, you'd know he just wants to stay busy instead of inactive and wants one before Ramadan. (I honestly don't know why I'm repeating this when it's written on top)

If Khan doesn't fight anyone of the top 5 140 pounders after this then I'll shut up.

Casamayor is faded , but he can still show Khan a few things, who has no where near the big fight experience that Joel does.
The last thing to go on an old lion is his bite, and Casa can still crack pretty good. He'll also expose Amir to the world of dirty dancin. Khan will be butted , hit low, elbowed and generally roughed up as long as the Cubans legs hold up.
Joel will also be able to deal with Khans jab, which was the key in his dominance over Mallinagghi.
Factor in the question of Khans jaw, and you've got a fight that may be dangerous for Khan , but a good experience that he'll need against guys like Bradley and Alexander.

    Joel Casamayor?

    - Almost 40 years old
    - Whos waaaaaaaay past his best
    - Coming off a knockout loss in his last meaningful fight
    - Whos never even had a serious fight at the weightclass before
    - Whos had 3 fights since 2007 (and hasnt fought once in 2010)

Hard for me to take this fight, or Khan it seems, seriously....

but hey, he can always keep tweeting his bs i guess

I realise his fans are going to defend this, like their doing, but this is the same bs defence that gets said for every bogus fight. Doesnt mean it shouldnt be called for what it is. I mean seriously, everyone but malignaggi and his mom knew the malignaggi fight was going to be khans coming out party (and relatively easy fight) against a smaller, light punching (but at least... fellow contender!) now is when he should be taking a fight that matters, not fighting an old, inactive, faded name coming off a knockout loss whos never even fought seriously in the weightclass before.

i know, i know.... its a 'stay busy fight'....

alright well i hope to see Khan step it up after this fight.... this should be a relatively harmless fight and one in which i expect to see another TKO stoppage over a 'name' opponent, hopefully afterwards we can get some meaningful contests between khan and his peers within the division.
