doesn't make sense. You gotta look at it from a different perspective. GoldenBoy is trying to build these two young fighters into marketable talent. By putting them in against each other, you highly risk losing one of your products.

Also, Ortiz wouldn't take that fight for July.

Yeah.. but you also seem to be describing a hype job. Guess it's just the nature of the sport..

The tired line from his fan boys is "yeah but after this it's onto the big boys".. they said it after Salita, they said it after Paulie, they will say it after this, but he will continue to avoid the big boys, because his handlers know his chin is egg.

    Just for starters....

    This content is protected

    - Mike Alvarado, 27-0, has no set opponent yet needs an upcoming fight, undefeated prospect and fellow contender, rated #9 within the division.

Would have been a decent clash between an undefeated prospect and a young contender and would have at least been Khan putting in work within his own weightclass against guys who arent 40 years old coming off a knockout loss.

And like i said, it doesnt matter what the excuse for the fight is. So what? lol...

So... because he says its a stay busy fight, boxing fans should be praising the fight up and down, thanking Khan for making such a fan treat?

It is what it is.... a crapy fight taken to stay busy... and like i added on to my post, it will pass, and then hopefully we will see the top dogs at 140 (which i consider khan due to his talent) face off.

The only fools here are the ones who slurp up fights like this without hesitation based on 'stay busy' and 'well, next time' statements. Im not going to crucify khan for this fight.... hes young, the top top dogs are indeed busy, but there ARE other options then this, and same im also going to call the fight what it is, a waste of time fight against a fighter who shouldnt even be in the ring with khan at this point in time.

But, like i said, it will pass, and hopefully next year we can see some meaningful matches from this group.

A fighter can be hyped whether he's average or great. Its the nature of the sport. The guy is 23, and he just fought two top 5 or top 10 guys of his division in the last 10 months. His career will probably last another 10 years. That's 120 months. And although there will be lapses of poor opposition, his level of opposition will on average continue to go up if he continues to be succesful. Its inevitable for any fighter who is in the spotlight.

I think boxing fans act like impatient spoiled brats sometimes.

    Mas Puto!(LiL *****!)
This is a tought fight for a 35Yr old who is coming up in weight. Not a 5'10" 23 year old olympian trained by Freddy Roach! Oh and to top it off Casamayor has to get a KO to win.

Nah not Marquez that would actually be interesting. Most likely hell fight Ricky Hatton after this fight. Then Nate Cambell, then rematch Malignaggi LoL

Casamayor is one of my favs ever, when he was in his prime never ducked nobody, and was avoided for many-incluiding Floyd. He was there 3 times against the great cprrales, beat him twice.
but now he will be used to feed those new champs and improve their resume. Its unfear to see casamayor at almost 40,fighting the young and strong Khan,in England and in a division where he had only fought once-against a nobody.
hope he collect a good check and retire after this, and i hope he doesnt get hurt.

Lazarus at what stage will yourself and Darni realize Khan is a cherry picking hype job joke? How many more fights where he avoids the best will it take?

Khan "calling out" Maidana, who is injured and has been paid by GBP not to fight Khan is friggin hilarious.

Not the fight everyone is clamoring for, but I get the move. Stay busy and build the anticipation for the bigger fights, they'll come. Khan is only 23 and there aren't many avenues to explore after this bout other than the big fish. Patience, people.
