Juan Manuel Marquez is pencilled in to fight on May 1st in Las Vegas

And Frank Warren has said in his recent article with The Sun that Amir Khan is pencilled in for May 1st.

"His next fight is pencilled in for May 1"

    Interesting..

They're making this an Interim bout where Khan will face -opponent- and then Khan will face his Mandatory, Marcos Maidana.

“But one thing for sure is that Khan must make his mandatory defence against Maidana.”(After Interim defence/second defence) - German promoter *Peter Kohl, who co-*promotes Maidana along with Golden Boy

Khan needs to face maidana....I'm sick of his fan boys saying "well he is only young still"....sorry, he IS a world champion...he should face his mando's...

The other thing is he is not Hamed....he just can't hop on over the pond and fight big boys in the states all of a sudden on his demands....Hamed built up a reputation, and the American fan's were also interested in Hamed....Khan needs to slow down and face maidana, which I think he wins easily....I don't know why Roach is the one avoiding this fight like the plague...I think Amir is willing face Maidana too...:huh

I think Khan should be able to have an interim fight first, he just did a mandatory against salita makes no sense to do another straight away!

Anyway against JMM I think he loses very easily against Malignaggi he stands a good chance against Maidana its 50:50

Stylistically Marquez would pose Khan far more problems than Maidana.

Might be a little soon for Khan.

He should think about Malinagi or someone of that level.

I don't wanna see this fight, I think Khan could beat him if he follows Floyds blue print.

I am personally hoping JMM goes back to 135 his options according to Rafael appear to be Katsidis or a Diaz rematch. Although Diaz has dominated Katsidis recently, JMM already TKOed Diaz and Katsidis has been working his way up so make that fight. JMM will pick him apart and destroy him. Amir Khan seems to be avoiding the Marcos Maidana fight like the black plague thats the fight I wanna see right now its a perfect matchup.

Do you ever make any comment not involving the words glass + jaw?

Marquez needs to give Katsidis his god damn match. And Khan needs to take care of his own mandatory. **** man, both fighters need to face who their SUPPOSED to face.

This, although I'd love a unification between Marquez and Valero. It'll perfectly show what Valero has and what Marquez has left.
