Khan, who successfully defended his WBA light-welterweight title against Paulie Malignaggi on Saturday, could next box in the UK on July 31, the same night that Márquez faces Juan Diaz in Las Vegas.

“We could do a split bill for television with Amir fighting in the UK and then go across to Manuel Márquez-Juan Diaz at Mandalay Bay,” Schaefer said. “That would be some double-header. I would then like to see the winner of the Márquez-Diaz fight face Amir. He has the style Americans love and he can be a big star in the US.”

BEFORE you start the criticism, Team Alexander just said that they'd like to fight Timothy Bradley in the FALL and fight the winner of Khan-Maidana in the SPRING. Alexander's team are thinking of Kotelnik(The guy who Khan beat) or Prescott so Khan would arguably take a harder challenge.

But this means Khan would fight someone before he could have a go at Marquez.

    Who could it be?

Question: Will the JMM - Diaz rematch be at 140 or 135 again?

There's a few names lined up, if he's fighting the winner of the Diaz-Marquez fight, any chance of him going back down to 135?

Fighting and defeating Paulus Moses or Michael Katsidis in July could get him a interim title at 135, then fight JMM or Diaz, and become the unified champion lol.

But he'll probably end up fighting Prescott and then Maidana in the Autumn.

At 135. Marquez would likely have to step up. So yeah Khan would be fighting a guy one division below but Marquez is harder than the opposition Bradley and Alexander are lining up, as I said above.

I am a big JMM's fan but my call for this one would be 60-40 Khan, He might outwork JMM but the mexican is known for timing and countering fast fighters, so there's also the possibility Jmm can catch him with a good counter right and send him to sleep...

Cos Khan all of a sudden is hot property, and beating this super punching monster known as "Khanquerer" will look awesome to Network Execs and the general boxing population.

Face it, who in America knows Kevin Mitchell?

I dont see Kahn going bck to 135 ever again. He had to kill himself to make it in his last few fights. My bet is that he takes on Ortiz next. If he fights JJM it will almost certainly be up at 140. And i think Kahn might outwork him over the distance

Fight of the Year(2009), they're probably hoping lightning strikes twice.

On the thread topic. Khan should not even be considering 135 fighters when 140 is so deep!:nono

Khan should be fighting top 140 pounders, not blown up featherweights.

Did you guys not read the 'Before you criticise' part? :patsch

Alexander's Team want Prescott and Kotelnik next. Alexander want Bradley in the fall and Khan in the spring, so that leaves them out. Plus HBO don't want to make it so quick.

Who does that leave? Answer that. Marquez is harder than the fights Alexander and Bradley are lining up right now for their HBO dates so you guys should really read next time.
